China Emerald Buffet

I have been eating from here for over a year now. The food is more delicious than any other Chinese buffet I have been to. The service is also good, you get seated quickly, they always refill your drink (s) and it is very clean.

I tried take out from here for this first time and wow, I’m impressed. I ordered the standard dishes I’d order from Mandarin, and every one beat Mandarin. The price was the same, but @ Mandarin, when you order more than $ 45 you get a choice of a free item (Veg. Rice, Spring Rolls) but they don’t have the same deal here so you get more for the money at Mandarin. Oh yeah, I didn’t get any fortune cookies, soy sauce or plum sauce. But I did get some Chow Mein Noodles.
At China Emerald, delivery is cash only. You can use a credit card at Mandarin. But at Mandarin, they don’t start delivery until 4pm on weekends. This is why I went to China Emerald in the first place. So, although I can’t say I’m officially switching I am glad to know there’s another option as long as I have the cash on hand.

Very little food on the buffet bar, and what was there had been there for a long time. Very old and bland tasting! Waitress brought out the wrong drinks, and when questioned about it just said, «but don’t you like it anyway?» Only reason for the 2 star review was because of the ice cream

The food is great and the staff are so nice, they always come to check if you need something. And they refill the food quickly too. You definitely get what you pay for. +$ 2.50 for ice tea/​lemonade with free refills.

This is one of our favorite stops when we want a quick meal. Always fresh and clean, servers are fun and pleasant. We frequent the emerald about once a week and the ladies now call us V.I.P. lol. You can’t beat this place for selection you get for the price. Also they serve filtered water which is a nice change, something you don’t find in even higher end restaurants.

A wonderful place to have a full course meal with soup bar, salad bar, meat, rice, veggies, chicken wings, potatoes, sweet rolls, and dessert bar.

They are closed from 3pm till 430pm (break time)
So plan your lunch from 12 to 2
And supper just after 430
It usually takes them 30 minutes from the time they open to have all the dishes served.
There is a good variety but sometimes the food gets cold fast.
Seating is good and there are private rooms you can book for events.
The décor is very pretty and it’s a good family atmosphere with seating available for children under 2. (high chairs are provided)
the washrooms are clean and always stocked with toilet paper.
great location and hartzell rd is only 10 minutes away from the QEW/​406 by the pen centre where you can do your shopping or go watch a movie at Studio 8 Empire Theatres
