Very poor experience Me and my roomates are all gamers we live one block from Thunderground The products were behind a counter so you can not look to see what is available The owner said we are not allowed to look to see what is available and if we want something we have to ask him He was quite rude and made you feel not welcome and that he was not interested in our business We now drive across town or go into Edmonton to shop for our gamming supplies I am not interested in giving him our money

I was a loyal customer for a year almost and after a while I started subscribing to different series. One week I asked the owner, Roy if I could stop subscribing to all of them and he started asking me why and all of this other stuff and it as because I didnt have enough money to keep buying them so I stopped and he told me i had to keep coming for another two months because that’s how far he orders in advance. After two months I asked him it is was over now and he said it would be another month! One week I came in on a Thursday when comics come out on Wednesday’s and I asked what i had and he said nothing when it said on the Internet one of the ones I was subscribed to was out! After I asked him he told me I thought you wanted to stop in a rude way and told me to never come back to his store again. If the owner finds out you went to another store he will kick you out. You can get the same stuff for cheaper PR the same amount at other stores like comic king and happy harbor. Go their instead the owner here is a rude man.

My family and I popped into Thunderground Comics last week for Free Comic Bood Day(FCBD) located on the corner of Fairview and Sir Winston Churchill. Roy(the owner) introduced himself to us and our children right off the bat and had a really great demeanor. We inquired if he carried the Vinyl Pop figures which he doesn’t but no worries. He showed us some other goodies and even some artwork made by local peeps. In the back of the store were some adults playing games(maybe D&D or role play of some sort) at a folding table. He took the time to speak to my children, find out what their interests are, and suggested which FCBD issues he thought they would like and even gave my little guy a mini Green Lantern figurine. Roy was surprisingly great with my kids who usually shy away from strangers and was easily available for any questions we had but never made us feel like he was hovering. Both of my kids picked out their first comic books here(Jem — Yes, that’s right and a variety grab bag of 10 super hero comics for only $ 10) in addition to a few other goodies the husband picked out. All in all it was a great visit — love shopping and supporting local! The kids and husband are already asking when can we go back :-) Two thumbs way up to Roy for Thunderground Comics & Collectibles — I’m sure we’ll be back soon! PS — They offer a pretty neat subscription service where for a $ 10 down, they will hold current subscriptions for a period of time until you can pick them up so you don’t have to worry about missing out.

THEBESTCOMICSTOREINALBERTA! I have been coming to thunderground for over a year know and I can honestly say, it is the best store in Alberta. The staff are so friendly that there are often complimentary cookies or local chocolates for free! Also on your first day there you get a free can of pop! They have an amazing Magic The Gathering collection as well a various Warhammer stuff. Really I cant even think of a better store to spend a weekend at
