Amaranth Whole Foods Market

Amaranth is a fabulous health market/​organic store located in the lowest level of the Enjoy Centre (Hole’s greenhouse is atop and Wellness Within spa/​yoga is also downstairs).
Amaranth is fabulous because it has an out of this world deli with fabulous meats and cheeses (think sandy farms for meat treats like jalapeño cheddar beef sticks — oh baby and coconut gouda in the cheese section!). The staff are always friendly and helpful — and don’t be shy to ask for a taste before you buy!
There is also a bakery with fresh goodness everyday but the bulk section is my favourite! If you’re trying out a new clean eating recipe and having difficulty in locating an ingredient, look no further!
My only complaint is the checkout is a little awkward in my opinion and you may have to wait a few minutes in check out but no biggie. This isn’t the type of place you dash into and dash out of!
Three Cheers for Amaranth and the Hole Family for putting together such fabulous location for wellness from food, to yoga, to gardening!

I haven’t shopped here extensively, but I like that it’s there for me when I need. Organic produce, natural cola pop, hormone-​free meats and nutritional supplements are what I have bought so far. Will return to check out organic spices when I need them, along with furthering my interest in the meats to more than bison. I feel at ease shopping here, with the friendly warm smiles and willingness to help.

The ONLY health food and organic food supermarket in St. Albert, and very good one too. Pricing is very good on most items, even without having a sale on. Great variety of bulk organic foods, gluten-​free and all the hard to find items. Very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The personal products staff could use a bit more training, but everything else is perfect. I’d love to see more organic and gluten-​free baking goodies, and breads but otherwise the selection is awesome!
