Wow that was fantastic! This event was very well organised and executed. It didn’t hurt that the rain kept away either! We stayed with friends in Squamish and biked to the event from their place. There was free secure valet for your bikes and you didn’t even need a lock. Very eco-friendly service! There were also a lot of recycling bins around the venue. The grounds were grassy and soft, making for comfortable picnics and cushiony dancing. The sound and lighting were all well done. The beer gardens were comfortable and offered prime viewing at all three stages. The port-o-potties were maintained throughout and were never disgusting. The event was family oriented(kids under 12 were free) which meant the energy was fun and social at all times. Well we did witness the occasional couple arguing but that’s young love for you. The bands and DJs were all fantastic and the event ran on time all day and night — very well organised! We’d set out a chart for ourselves and went back and forth from one stage to another and caught every show we wanted to. The concession stands offered a wide variety(Pad Thai to mini donuts) of food choices at reasonable prices and the coffee vendors made good coffee! There were ATMs on site too so you didn’t have to worry if you were short on cash. You could bring in your own food though and if you brought in your own water bottle there were places to refill it. There was no smoking allowed in the venue(although some people snuck in puffs) but they did allow in-outs so it wasn’t a problem for those that smoke to pop outside the gates. The in-outs also gave parents options to take their kids elsewhere after a full day of shenanigans then come back for the night concerts. The cops and security were all full of smiles and seemed pretty relaxed which was the vibe of this event for the full two days. I hope it’s a good line-up next year ’cause I want to go again.
