My girlfriend and I rented kayaks at Rush as a nice day trip from Victoria. The drive out to Sooke is nice and Rush’s location right on the water in a quiet cove can’t be beat. Don’t get tricked into kayaking in Victoria’s busy harbor. We kayaked for nearly 3 hours and didn’t see another boat or human being the entire time. The coves and small islands were gorgeous, and we even got to see several seals up close. The staff was awesome. We didn’t do a guided tour, but they offer guided tours of the area that sounded great. It was pretty affordable, especially when compared with other kayak shops closer to Victoria. It was definitely worth it to get off the beaten path.
