I came back to this place as a repeat customer by virtue of the fact that in 2009 I received very good service here. The place has changed.
I took my car there after being rear-​ended and hitting the car in front of me while sitting at a red light. I advised them numerous times that the front end had been scraped up and needed examining. I also advised them numerous times that something was rattling under the car while idling, since the accident.
Despite this, they concentrated on the rear of the car (where the most damage was) and essentially ignored my directions to examine the front and undercarriage until I had to make explicit phone calls to get them to do it and to, at long last, fix the damage.
Finally, I went to pick up my car, but found out later that the light inside my hatch was inoperable. This made me have to go back to them to get it fixed. It turns out it was just a broken bulb, but shouldn’t this have been checked prior to giving me back my car? After all, the majority of damage happened to the hatch area.
On top of it all, part of their satisfaction promise is to detail your car inside and out. The outside of the windows were covered in a filmy substance from the body shop (could have been paint dust) and the inside of the car still reeks of paint fumes, such that I have to keep the windows down a bit in the month of December!
To add insult to injury, I was never asked by Richard (the manager) if I was satisfied with the repairs, despite having dealt with him throughout this fiasco. Not only that, but he saw me on site when I went back to get the light checked and never asked me if anything was wrong. No apologies were offered to me by anyone for wasting my time, either.
The lower-​paid guys around there who do the menial labour are nice and friendly, so I have nothing bad to say about them.
My synopsis is thus. With their lack of attention to detail and their overall lackadaisical attitude toward my patronage, I won’t go back for any new repairs in the future. I wouldn’t care as much had they not made a big deal on the website and on their signage in the building that customer service was their top priority.
**UPDATE**
After all the aforementioned nonsense, I discovered in the spring that my car was leaking when it rained. Sure enough, it was due to Brimell’s lack of thoroughness in repairing my car. They then fixed that, but damaged my car’s door frame with scratches and gouges over the course of that repair. I then had to take it back to have them repaint that.
Based on my experience, I say categorically that Brimell is either grossly incompetent or they just don’t care about the quality of their work.
Stay away from them, people.
