I went to Fancy last night after reading fair reviews and though I have had probably the WORST nail salon experiences in Scarborough(have tried quite a few now) I decided to give one more a shot since I currently live in Scarb. and it would just make my life easier if I could find a great/good salon nearby. Any who, I went to Fancy for a bio-gel refill, shaping(coffin) and shellac application. What I ended up with was all different shapes and had to keep correcting her until they were much too short and still not the shape I had requested, but tolerable, and it wasn’t until I got out of the salon and was on my way home when the lighting hit differently and I noticed one hand was much less opaque than the other and entirely lighter. while it is only a slight bit lighter, I didn’t pay $ 50 and Spend TWOHOURS(absolutely absurd for a fill and shellac, moving backwards may have been faster) in the salon to have different shades of nails on each hand. I have absolutely had ENOUGH of Scarborough nail salons and will make the extra drive out of town(most likely Markham, where I have never had a problem with salons in the past) just so i can get legitimate service and some decent nails for once! It was really unfortunate because I had heard Yennie does a good job but I just didn’t get that experience unfortunately. I also got jewels put on my ring finger on each hand and on both you can see the glob of gel they used to put it on underneath seeping out the sides and my right hand is off centered! Overall not impressed and while the girls were very nice I won’t be returning. Sorry Fancy!

I went to this place based on reading reviews. The lady was nice and payed attention to detail however the shellac did not last more than a week and I was pretty disappointed.

A few changes to the staff. Kelly has left. Yennie, the boss does awesome eyebrow waxing + bikini waxing. Sometimes wait can be long so call ahead to see how busy they are too avoid waiting. They’ve expanded their Shellac offering and there are lots more colors to choose from. My favorite is Annie, she’s very meticulous with everything she does and she does the best nail designs. She’s also super friendly and nice. Free Wi-Fi makes waiting less painful. Massage pedicure chairs are nice. Pro tip: if you’re going for a pedicure. Bring flip flops. You don’t want to smudge it by accident.

I have a nail girl who I regularly go to in Aurora(I will make the 1 hour drive from the downtown core all the way up to see her). Unfortunately, she had to go back home to Vietnam for 3 months. This left me with the predicament of having to find someone to «replace» her temporarily while she was away. As I book my nails appointments once every 2 weeks, I had the«pleasure» of trying out 6 different places during this time. Fancy Nails was my last stop. I wish I had found this place first. After going through horrible rounds of poor nail shaping, bad colour application, and horrible service — I read the reviews for this salon and figured I would give it a shot. The staff were friendly and warm. You could tell by the reaction from their other clientele that they are well liked. I believe one of the girls in the salon just came back from a trip and was greeted with hugs from the clients walking in. I was asked what I needed and told them a refill with shellac. I wasn’t «upsold’ or pressured into getting a pedicure or any of their other services which was nice. I know that upselling is common business practice, but I came in knowing what I wanted. The girl who took care of me(Yen) was very pleasant and meticulous in her work. She made sure I liked the length and shape of my nails. She was extremely shocked when I asked her to make my fake nails as short as possible, but still fulfilled my request and had them looking wonderful. The shellac application lasted the full 2 weeks :). I work in the medical field and my hands are constantly in contact with sanitizer and rubbing alcohol. The salon itself seems clean enough(looks like a typical nail salon). Yen would sanitize the nail tools with rubbing alcohol before using them on my hands. To me that’s good enough. I know some salons put them in UV light sanitizers etc. which is fine as well, but to clean the tools in front of the client makes me feel more assured. I was also treated to a wonderful hand massage. Every other salon I tried during this 3 month period did not do that. If you do choose to go here, book an appointment and pay in cash. I now know that if I ever need a fix or cannot make it up to Aurora, I will be heading to Fancy Nails to get my nails done.

I just recently moved to the area and had to find a new nail and wax place and boy am I glad I found this place! I had the pleasure of dealing with Annie for a wax(bikini, underarm, eyebrows and upper lip) and a mani/pedi. To say she was FANTASTIC is an understatement! She gave me her full attention, didn’t ignore me to speak to her peers in a different language! She put me at ease and was THOROUGH! She double/triple checked all her work to ensure perfection! It was so refreshing going somewhere where I wasn’t rushed out and where someone actually took time and pride in her work! Prices were reasonable too! I’m definitely coming back! Thanks for getting me vacation ready Annie!

Cheap nail salon in the neighborhood, and they have free WiFi for the customers. I would give a 3.5 star. Overall service is decent, and they do know how to do nails well. I personally had a good experience with Ann, Annie and Kelly. Though last time I went there, Kelly has already left the salon. I highly recommend Annie for waxing, she knows what she’s doing and I get the best brows from her every time I go. As well, they make sure your under arm is clean if you are doing an under arm wax by plucking out the hair that the wax missed. However, I do not recommend the boss of the salon(mid aged Asian lady with glasses). She will always tries hard to up sell you on things(Example: Shellac, «Quick dry» nail polish, designs etc…), even when it’s obvious that you aren’t in the talking mood. She doesn’t do as good of a job as her employees either. All in all, decent experience, will be back, but will be requesting Ann or Annie from now on.

It was my first time there and I had to redo my shellac after two weeks worth of a vacation and a horrible manicure prior to that. The salon opens at around 10am and I got there around noon. There was only about 2 other people so I didn’t have to wait at all and I was cheerfully greeted by all the staff. My nails were treated with such care by a girl named KELLY and she was very gentle when it came to the nail tools. And when she was painting the shellac on, she covered the entire nail, unlike the old salon I went to. We talked a lil bit and she’s a very cheerful person; wonderful to talk to(wished I talked to her more during my session!). In the end, I paid via credit card so there was a 5 $ charge but it’s all good. My total came down to about $ 31 and I gave her a nice tip for providing such excellent customer service! I’m definitely coming back the next time! Everything was amazing! The only thing I wish they had was more colour selection for their shellac but other than that, AMAZINGEXPERIENCE :) it’s a definite go to!
