Brighton Convention and Event Centre

The venue is just stunning. The staff are eyond helpful and friendly. The food is exceptional. This venue is definitely my preferred venue in Scarborough hands down. If you’re thinking of booking This Venue For An event You should Definitely Book It. The banquet manager Mayuran is probably one of the most down to earth people you’ll ever meet.

A great place to host weddings, parties and graduation ceremonies. The décor is crisp and white with beautiful chandeliers throughout the area. The foyer could serve as a great area for a cocktail reception, while the inside is a decent size for any kind of reception. Haven’t gotten around to trying the food… Would rely on other reviewers for it.

I was at the Brighton Convention Centre for a work conference last week. It’s not a massive venue, but it’s not tiny as well. The parking lot is large; I was running a little late, but managed to find quite a few spots. The décor is not super fancy so I’m not too sure about backgrounds for photos. As for the food, I was quite impressed. It wasn’t your typical rubber chicken dish; the chicken was juicy and quite tasty. I’m not planning a wedding or large event any time soon, but the Brighton Convention Centre does the trick.

We had our wedding reception here in October 2014.
Although we had a few small hiccups after the Centre changed ownership and our event was transferred to a different coordinator, they worked hard to give us what we needed for our event.
The space is really lovely, the food was great and the staff are fantastic.
I would recommend the Centre to anyone looking for an event space.

My husband and I had our wedding reception here last summer and I have to say it was amazing! The staff were very attentive and worked with us and our budget to give us a wedding better then we ever could have hoped for! The food was amazing, one of my guests even told me not only was it the best wedding food he’d ever had but possibly the best meal he’d ever had! I really couldn’t be happier with the way things turned out.
If I was forced to pick on one thing I’d say it would be the lack of sound barrier between the 2 rooms. There was a huge wedding going on next door and there was really loud music going on in the middle of our speeches so you could hear the booming bass through our space. That’s literally the one negative thing I could say about our wedding at Grand Baccus.

3.5. I was here for a wedding & thought the venue was very beautiful especially in the foyer area. However if your numbers are lower, most likely the ballroom will be split in two. I didn’t like the divider in the foyer & wondered how the bride & groom felt since they had to technically share the space? I would imagine it might suck for the couple in the smaller area as it would obviously be louder in the bigger ballroom.
The wedding I attended here served Chinese food catered by Rovey. One of the better Chinese catering companies. If you want your food to be amazing, be sure to book with him personally.
Service was wonderful and they kept filling up my glass w/​the table wine, water so I didn’t even have to get myself a drink. Or perhaps that’s the plan with open bars? :)
Without uplights and such, the larger ballroom felt a bit dark. I liked that the interior had neutral colours and would go w/​any colour scheme. Very elegant.
I remember enquiring with this venue whilst venue shopping but popular dates were booked about 1.5−2 yrs ahead. I had enquired about two dates & both were not available. Book early :) The lady I spoke with seemed excited about my numbers until she found out the dates. Then her tone changed.

I just had my wedding at Grand Baccus. The service was impeccable from A-​Z. They were wonderful in helping me bring my day together. The food was delicious and everything was on point. I had so many guests come up to me and tell me how the food and service was great. This place is definitely a hidden gem. Thank you Grand Baccus and team!

Is it Grand Baccus or Grand Bacchus?
The location is sort of not really located in the middle of nowhere, it’s on the southwest corner of McNicoll, directly diagonal from the Chako BBQ and Go For Tea Plaza.
The space itself wasn’t bad, but the acoustics aren’t the greatest, becuase I had a hard of time hearing the speeches and it was difficult to carry on a conversation with those at your table. I’m not sure if it was from the fact that the wedding itself was about 350 guests. But the space itself isn’t too bad, plenty of parking available.
I liked the fact that the DJ booth was out of the way and upstairs rather on the same floor as the rest of us. However, the sound system wasn’t greatest. The food came out pretty quickly and the food was mostly hot,
The main gathering area is quite nice, with a water feature behind the stairs, but partition wasn’t the greatest, because i think some people from the event next door gate crashed the one we were attending for pre-​reception drinks and nibbles too.
