I’m only slightly embarrassed to report that during my almost 2 week business trip to Sarnia Ontario, I ate at Tim’s every morning. That also included the in-between weekend in Toronto. And if I was driving across Canada or Hortonized parts of the US, I would most probably use Tim’s on-line trip planner and make sure that I hit one every morning and maybe even occasionally for lunch. Like Southwest Airlines and In-N-Out Burger, Tim Hortons executes their service model consistently well. The only thing you can’t control or predict is when the lineups or drive-thru backups will occur and for how long. And even then, they move you along quickly and it will be only a short while before your order is taken and delivered. Our group would pretty much follow the same pattern. We’d meet in the Holiday Inn Lobby by 6:45AM, head directly to this nearby Tim’s, order, sit with our breakfast and chat for a several minutes, and then be at the Plant by 7:30AM to start work. Everything that I ordered starting with coffee, then followed by a toasted bagel with light cream cheese, or a breakfast sandwich, or a frosted Cinnamon roll or walnut crunch were all consistently good, fresh and inexpensive. I also brought home a tin of hot chocolate powder that my son has very much enjoyed. For what you expect and what you get, it really doesn’t get any better than this. My only regret was not winning anything from the«Roll up to Win» promotion and forgetting to bring the Lee Valley Hardware tool that my friend Jim gave me for just this contest.
