Ta-ke Sushi

Take sushi is a cozy place with some good sushi. Their lunch menu nigiri lunchbox has really good value and I’d definitely recommend trying that out! Regarding the Korean dishes, pretty standard selection and delicious. Service was prompt and friendly. Overall good experience, will come back!

Came into town for Irving Oil, across my hotel was this humble looking sushi place — I ofcourse couldn’t resist and walked.
It was about half filled up with people here on a Saturday evening, so I seated myself and my colleague right away.
The host was kind and incredibly knowledgable about the dishes, the drinks and most importantly the fish. He gave us suggestions and they were very well received.
I had the Nabe Soba and asked to leave out the seafood, he offered me extra chicken to compensate. The broth was very delectable and I gulped down the whole bowl with ease.
I also ordered some salmon sushi and it was incredibly lean with a wholesome flavor. It was caught yesterday in a nearby sea farm and it was explained to us in detail about how these are caught.
The rolls were beautifully made and had a great flavor.
I always have a prejudice towards Japanese rastaurants and it starts with good Miso soup. If the soup’s good, the rest follows.
The Miso soup was excellent.
Recommended place to drop by if you’re in town.

really good sushi. And I’m from the West coast so I know sushi. The service was good and the chef himself came out when we ordered some sashimi to tell us what he had available and ask what our favorites were. It was delicious.

On the night I visited I ordered a bibimbap (didn’t come in a stone pot) plus a vegetable tempura. Bibimbap had too many onions but otherwise had some good flavour and was a bit on the smaller size but not bad for the price!
Tempura was really good nice and crispy and came with three nice sized shrimp with assorted vegetables and copious tempura sauce for dipping.
Good quality meal in a friendly restaurant!
