Came to Servus place to help out for the EEK Fest for Unilocal. We got hungry and this is the only place that serves alcohol with food lol(I need a beer…). We sat at the back away from the crowd so it was peaceful. Our server was prompt with taking our drink order. I had a nice pint of Stella and my partner had a water with a lime. I ordered the chicken quesadilla and he got the BLT sandwich with poutine. Our food order came up on time and the food looked normal. My quesadilla was ok, I mean it was good but not spectacular. My partner liked his meal it filled his tummy well. If I am in the area again and I was really hungry I would come back.

We happened to be in the building for the comic and pop culture fest going on over the weekend and decided to grab lunch here as we weren’t interested in concession food. It’s kind of interesting to note that while the ambiance of Skybox is that of a sports bar it is infact a fully licensed family restaurant. The menu consists of typical pub options including burgers, wraps, nacho’s, and sandwiches. Price wise you are looking at what one would expect to pay at anywhere similar like Boston Pizza or Sherlock Holmes Pub. We decided to split an order of nachos on the advice of the waiter which turned out to be great advice as the portions here are huge. I admired the honesty of the waiter as I was initially going to have the nachos just to myself and my boyfriend was going to get a burger and he just could have left it at that and made more money off of us. Unfortunately that was pretty much where the good service ended here. It took ages for the nachos to come(25 – 30 minutes) and once we did finally see them we never saw the waiter after that to get refills on our drinks. The nachos themselves had generous topping placement but the chicken was dried out and the cheese burnt on in several areas. When the bill came I had asked for four fives in exchange for a twenty and he couldn’t even do that for us and had to go get change from the concession booth outside. It was the first time I have ever eaten out that a waiter couldn’t make change for me and I found it strange. I understand that it was the weekend and with the festival there it might have been more traffic then they were used to seeing which is why im not going below three stars. I could see it being a great place for locals but for people visiting from outside the city I don’t know that it’s worth seeking out when there are so many other great places to eat in the heart of the city.
