Excellent place to have lunch. Lots of healthy options, including many breakfast/brunch type items. The house salad was well worth it. Very friendly and swift service. Outside seating covered by rain protective roof.

Live music, food, drinks, this place is hopping in Roberts Creek. We stopped by on Saturday night to watch a friend play some music. I didn’t stay long due to a headache, but the venue was lovely. Small but not cramped. Intimate. The people were super friendly and the menu had real food(not just pre-made baked goods and wraps, etc.). They served adult drinks as well as regular café fare. Great place to check out!

One of my favorite places on earth to eat breakfast!!! Every time I am on the Sunshine Coast, this is a must go destination! Very relaxing atmosphere and always friendly laid back staff. Great to unwind from the city hustle and bustle, which is very much needed for the soul.

Our pizza and pastries were perfect. Yes, perfect.(We’re just as enthusiastic about the Gumboot restaurant, where we had dinner tonight.) The food we had was fresh, original and very flavourful — not salty and artificial like nearly every other restaurant out there. I don’t like trying new places because I make food at home with the best quality ingredients and methods and most restaurants use every shortcut they can, meaning cheap, processed convenience ‘foods’. When I come across a place that knows what ‘fresh’ means, I have to rave about it. Oh, and the ambiance is great, too. I don’t like places that have a great thing going and act self-conscious about it. This place has confidence, not cockiness.

A wonderful, cute little place in the heart of Robert’s Creek. Gumboots consists of a little café, a restaurant and sorbet/ice cream stand. I didn’t get a chance to check out the restaurant but the café and sorbet stand was a delight to visit. Café: –many desserts, baked goods and lunch(limited with not too much selection) items such as cookies, cupcakes, sandwiches, samosas, etc.(vegan, gluten-free too!) –quinoa cake: vey bland and unflavourful but had a nice tahini dressing that was necessary for some flavour. –samosa is nice, not too greasy and had a little spice. Came with a sweet salsa. –vegan«love» chocolate cake: good but a little dry –chocolate zucchini cupcake: moist with a sweet and tasty ¾″ icing –peanut butter chocolate zucchini cupcake: also very moist, with chocolate bits inside and a very sweet peanut butter icing. –peanut butter ball: yummy chocolate outer shell filled with a crunchy, soft peanut better center. Very, very tasty… I wish it was bigger! –bigger inside than it looks on the outside with a covered outdoor space –cashier was a little frazzled but did his best Sorbet Stand: –awesome sorbet and ice cream. All vegan, made with simple ingredients. I love this! –many flavours including pistachio, chocolate, raspberry, strawberry, etc. They were extremely kind and I tried many flavours. All were delicious and tasted just perfect — not too sweet and just like like the fresh fruit in dessert form. –they had a special gluten free ice cream sandwich filled with an maple almond ice cream(can’t quite remember the flavour exactly but it was yummy) –cones were a reasonable price from $ 2 – 4 and pints were $ 12. Great place for a high quality dessert with simple ingredients and no junk!

Pros: Cute location, funky ambience. Cons: Only *one* gluten free option at lunch — quinoa cakes. There was no option for a side salad. The cakes themselves were bland, though the sauce was good. However, the clincher for us was we were handed the cakes in a paper bag… no plates. The fact we travelled so far to be handed something that looked like it came from McDonalds was a bit disappointing. We won’t be back.

yum! we loved our breakfast at the gumboot! arrived in town pretty late the night before, found the hostel(which we also loved), and had a great sunset on the jetty. before setting out the next AM, we stopped by to fill up on some really great food. and picked up some treats for further down the road while we were at it. loved roberts creek! and loved the gumboot.

As a gluten-free gal, I loved finding this quaint café on the Sunshine Coast during our honeymoon. We stopped by three times. Once we stayed and hung out in their ‘backyard’ patio. A very chill, casual patio with covered areas– it feels like you are in a friend’s back garden. I enjoyed a macha green tea and devoured a decadent coconut bliss(a GF coconut ball(2“dia) topped with chocolate). Their coffee is Strait Coffee, a local roaster– and delicious with deep chocolate toasty notes. My husband loved their cinnamon buns, which sell out before the afternoon on most days! He rates them a 7/10, likely not perfect b/c they were iced(he prefers not) and had raisins… I found it to be a bit pricey for a casual hippy café(a coconut bliss and cinnamon bun came to almost $ 6) but we were happy to support to local economy of Robert’s Creek. Their food options are plenty– pizza slices looked great… just not GF. Good for: A quick bite, bringing a novel and enjoying lunch alone, take-away for a beach picnic, morning coffee…

Best coffee on the coast, that i’ve found yet. The café has very limited pastries and such, in that regard other options are better. However they have some great gluten free options for those so inclined, i highly suggest their macaroons. the restaurant across the parking lot is amazing, top notch, 5 stars. 4 stars overall, would love to see more pastry options and more reasonable pricing on the pizza slices ;) be sure to check out Elphinstones out back and up the stairs!

We just visited the Gumboot last weekend. As usual, the food was good but the service was lousy. One hour to get our food(only 20 minutes to get a coffee, and the promised refill came with the food). The attitude was flippant disregard for us and the many others who got the same service. I’ll never go back!

I have now been here three times, and it makes me wonder what I’ve been doing with my time that I’ve only been here 3 times. First of all, great location in sleepy pretty Roberts Creek. Really just a hop(on to the ferry), skip(off of the ferry) and jump(to Robert’s Creek) away. Second, the food — love love love. This is one place that I have found outside of The Coup in Calgary that has just really good ‘wholesome’ fresh, healthy food. I am so in love with the Buddha and Ninja bowl, I would be willing to follow either a path to enlightenment or… lightening fast stealthy movements, to eat this every day. This past weekend their vegetarian special was roasted squash quesadillas with macadamia pesto. So very yum. The waiting staff sometimes makes me laugh, but generally always a great experience. I’ve even heard a rumour that they grow a lot of their own vegetables that they put in their food — I could totally believe this. So, go stealthily and with an enlightened heart and take the jaunt to check this place out.

Nestled in the infamous Hippy-central of BC, The Gumboot Café is all organic-hippy greatness. I haven’t been here in about 5 years, and was surprised to see that they had expanded. They now have a bigger separate restaurant, a spa, and a bakery/café in their original location. It was pretty busy but were seated promptly, servers very groovy and friendly. I had their chicken burrito that was filled with beans, rice, and other goodness. Sides were mango something sauce and sour cream as well as a fresh salad with mango dressing. It was Campbell’s mmm mmm good good. My table-mates had yam fries(best ever, done wedge style and roasted, not fried), Thai noodle salmon with wild smoked salmon, and the lamb burger. I tried a bit of everything and my eyes popped from each bite. All you Vancouverites, visit The Sunshine Coast and stop by the Gumboot. Organic morsels never tasted so good.

I had a great Americano and an excellent piece of blueberry pie. The atmosphere is very relaxed and enjoyable, with a peaceful outdoor sitting area. Lots and lots of vegan and gluten-free café choices round out the snacks, and there are non-vegan items to please everyone as well.
