Had lunch here after shopping around! This White Spot is decent, the food is good and the servers are friendly despite the rush. Service was kind of slow that they but that’s understandable because it was Black Friday and the place was crowded. Ordered the fish tacos with coleslaw and endless fries, which my husband pretty much just ate two plates of since he thought I spent too much money that day :/the tacos were good, but kind of small for the price. Their salsa is delicious though! I never thought about adding strawberries haha, that was pretty unique. The touch of cilantro with the fish worked wonderfully. Tipped them extra because I thought we ordered too many fries… Server was really nice about it though. I would probably come back if I visited Richmond Centre again! 4⁄5.

I have been there many, many times and it is consistently reliable and tasty. I appreciate the reasonable prices, the friendly staff, the consistently prompt service and the wonderful hamburgers and french fries. I am typically asked if I would like more french fries(unlimited fries are included with many White Spot entrees) and my answer is a resounding«yes» even though I know I shouldn’t eat so many french fries; they are just too yummy to resist. I have also shared a burger platter many times with my husband, and this is often served to me split onto two plates and/or an extra plate is brought, which makes the portion size just right and the meal more economical. I have been coming to White Spot since I was a child and this Richmond Centre location gets an overall«A» on all counts.

I hadn’t been to white spot in YEARS(maybe 10) but was so disappointed — our food was DISGUSTING. They’ve changed the way they make their signature meals, and not for the better. I will not go back here!

White Spot is usually my go-to place for dinner if I have been shopping around the mall. The wait is never that bad but it does vary(around 2−10min for the times that I’ve gone). The employees and manager are very friendly and welcoming when you enter the restaurant. I’ve gotten the Tuscan Chicken Pasta before and it comes with garlic bread on the side for around $ 15. Although it might be a little more on the pricey side of usual dishes, the portions for this specific pasta is pretty big. Other dishes I’ve tried have all tasted great as well. The service is pretty good, like I said before, but the only downside is that I find it a little hard to get the waitresses’ attention when asking for the bill etc. Maybe it’s the way the restaurant layout is or the waitresses are just really busy during the dinner hours. Overall, I recommend this place; great dishes and good service.

we came here a while back to have dinner and ask if they were able to help us with funraising gift cards for a pub night we were putting on amazingly they gave us 10 platters for two thats 20 Legendary Burger platters for our fundraiser so generous we were able to rase just over 2000 $ that night and help a family in need. Thank you again. As for our dinner I of course had the legendary burger platter one of my old favorites and my family had the Pirate Pack and the happy hour poutine everything was amazing !

This is a common dinner place like you can find anywhere else around here. Coming from Europe this is interesting to see those places. This one is situated at the entrance of the mall making it a perfect location when you go shopping and need to rest for a while if you are staying long. The service was pretty fast(at 5:15pm) almost no time between placing the order and getting served. The selection of meals is as anywhere else, soups, salads, meat and burgers. So not many surprise here. I had tried Triple O’s previously so after I learned that White Spot owned it, I was surprised to see that it was basically the same burgers but more expensive(the difference being unlimited fries). But to be honest after one serving you will be full. I like their burgers, I had the double double and it was very nice. The fries weren’t crusty enough for my liking but good anyway. You will be full and can’t really expect much from White Spot.

This place is great for kids. it’s made for kids actually! If you have loud, messy ones you feel right at home because there are toddlers everywhere. White Spot caters to kids with crayons, colouring activity sheet and pirate paks. This one can get very busy and when we went on a Thursday night to celebrate my daughter’s birthday it got busy around 6pm. The waitresses there are usually friendly but the one we got this time seemed apathetic. I ordered the veggie burger it was not that tasty. I usually get the mushroom burger which is delish so next time I know to order that again. Everyone was happy with their food but I’d say the service was slower than usual. We had to remind the waitress a few times for simple things … maybe she was just overwhelmed or new. We asked about a dessert for her birthday and she asked the manager who kindly gave us chocolate brownie cake with a candle. When it came time for a the bill we waited about 10 – 15 minutes for the waitress to come back to take my card even though she came to our area about 3 times to help other tables. So I asked the bus girl to help us with the bill since our kids were getting restless and she did. The waitress came near the end and finished processing my card … gave my card back, no smile, thanks for coming, or anything. So overall, tasty food, great atmosphere for kids, but for $ 70, we’ll probably take my kids somewhere cheaper next time, as they probably would have just as good of an experience at McDonald’s. We probably just caught an indifferent or tired waitress.

Shortly after my review(via their customer survey site), the manager contacted me about my experience and basically sent me a gift card to use at his location again. We went again recently and were very happy with the service this time around. I do have to say it was not during rush hour, around 830pm, but the restaurant was still pretty busy. Everything was spot on, including the VERY friendly waiter and we had no complaints. Even the fries were crispy! The table beside us at the fish and chips and they were huge — like twice the size of the ones I got in my last visit. So, my suggestion is that if you are in the mall and want to dine here, maybe shop a bit longer until it’s past rush hour times. Oh, and if you get shortchanged with smaller pieces of fish for their fish ‘n chips, tell your waiter!

This review is for the White Spot located in the Richmond Center Mall. What started out with good expectations for our meals, turned out to be good for my niece and our Japanese food critique, but not so good for me. My niece wanted to try the Chicken Pot Pie which was recommended to her by a friend. With a side of Caesar Salad and water, she was happy with her meal and overall it was a 4 out of 5 experience for her. She was just happy to get outside and dine with us. Our Food Critique had an equally surprising and good meal that held up to White Spots Standards. I had a nibble and yes. the pasta was not too shabby. I wanted chicken wings — hot wings to be exact and a side of salad. The wings came out as expected but the salad had way too many rotten green leaves in it. It was just gross. The waiter(maybe the night manager?, but not our regular server) came up to us when I asked him to take my salad away after he noticed I was picking out my rotten salad leaves in disgust. He wasn’t listening to me and got me a replacement salad that was equally just as bad. You could smell the bad soggy slimy leaves. I asked him to take it away and requested that I don’t want another salad. He didn’t offer to take it off my bill or comp me for something else to eat, which they normally do for this type of embarrassment.(not for me, but for the restaurant.) He said he would remind the kitchen staff to be more aware of the vegetables they serve. Our regular server came back and we informed her of the salad problem and she did apologize for the problem and she took it off my bill. So my experience was sadly a 0 star. Three stars overall because my dining companions really liked their meal. I hate to say it, but I won’t be coming back here for a long time. The last time I was here was when my uncle had one of those metallic chicken tabs in his chicken and our aunts ham had a stamp mark on it. That was 10 years ago. I’ll go back to the other White Spots where I know I can trust the food a bit better. Chef Currie would be shocked at this location. Maybe it’s just me. I’m extra picky and like my vegetables fresh and cleaned properly. I do hope they get those kitchen issues worked out on their quality control at this location. Typo’s Free of Charge, you’re welcome :)

Came in a Monday night after some last minute Christmas shopping. Restaurant was really quiet so I chose to sit in the bar area. That was my first mistake. Waited for almost 10 minutes and still had to go find someone to take my order. No apology for making me wait. Good thing I am not a mystery shopper for White Spot as that is a definite no no according to their training program. Ordered the legendary burger with fries and coleslaw. Lettuce was starting to go bad. Not very impressed. Waited a while again for the bill. Don’t think I will return to this location in the near future!

It is one of the better managed White Spots: staff are always super nice, food is presented nicely, lots of tables so the wait to get served usually isn’t long, and it’s conveniently located in the mall for your other shopping needs.

Don’t bother trying to use the website to place an order for pickup. You might as well call it in. I tried the website for 15 minutes without success. I called the order in within 5 minutes which includes being on hold for 2 minutes.

The staff and restaurant were great, and to be fair the food tasted good, but we both got really ill about half an hour after eating it. Not sure if it was salt overload, but we both had really upset stomachs and had to drink liters and liters of water. It was a horrible night.

Been coming to this location since I was a little kid. I can still remember thinking the pirate pak was the best thing ever(hello pirate pak day!) To start, we ordered a blueberry milkshake to share. We asked for it in two glasses instead of the usual glass and metal cup. When we received the glasses, we could tell we got significantly less milkshake than what we would have gotten if we didnt ask them to split it. Service wasn’t anything exceptional but to be fair I don’t go there expecting to be wowed. This location is always busy and the staff seem to be youngins who try their best to keep up. Ordered the bc chicken burger and it was delicious as usual. Overall, Whitespot never seems to disappoint on the food(except when you ask them to split the milkshake in half.) Will always recommend it if you’re looking for something familiar and reliable. On a side note, the company on a whole seems to have a great social media team. They’re quick to respond on Twitter and Facebook which makes them pretty awesome!

On my last day of my one day in Vancouver, I had plenty of time for my last meal in British Columbia. Glad my flight was at 4pm in the afternoon instead of 6am and no time to eat before going to the airport. I had to visit one last mall before heading off to YVR. With all the Asians in Richmond, I guess I had to eat at the contrary, White Spot Restaurant in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada. Located at the Richmond Centre Mall, you’ll find the popular White Spot Restaurant. If you didn’t drive here, you can take the train to Richmond-Brighhouse Station and walk across the street. Like the other Unilocalers, White Spot reminds me of Denny’s, just Canadian. It was Sunday and very busy at noon. I had no idea what White Spot was. When we were seated, I looked at the menu and looked very American or southern with their promotion of their fried chicken. There is a bar area, but have limited seating. I opted to sit in the main area. I didn’t get our waitress’ name. On my receipt it says, «Bronwyn». My friend was falling asleep since my birthday we were going across Vancouver. He got himself ton of coffee($ 2.99) while I was still recovering from my hangover with free water. We both noticed that service was very slow to refill both our water and coffee. When we were ready to take our order, we got straight to business. My friend order Nats Heart Breakfast($ 11.49) with an additional side of cole slaw($ 1.69). I went very simple. I ordered the White Spot Clubhouse with multi-grain bread and endless fries($ 12.99). Yes, ENDLESSFRIES Although I can’t write the review for my friends order, I can definitely write about mine. The wait for our order is about 15 minutes. The restaurant started getting busy and usually means, its a popular spot. When we got our order, I dug right in. The White House Club is basically a BLT with chicken. I loved the cole slaw, but I wish there was more besides a small scoop. Half a sandwich was good enough, but I had to finish the other half since I wasn’t going to take it with me on the plane. When I finished my first order of fries, I had to wait about 10 minutes for the waitress to come back. It was like they were avoiding my order. I did flag the waitress and got my french fries fast. The service was very slow, but the restaurant was busy. I thought there were a lot of employees, but it seemed it wasn’t enough. When it was time to order, I was still getting accustomed to the employees bring the POS system to your table instead of them swiping the card at the counter. Its cool since you can select the percentage of the tip instead of trying to calculate in your head. I love how the receipt says about my extra fries, «1 more fries!!!» I wonder if I had order another. What would it say? Perhaps someone can order if you visit?! You think I write too much? Well, you can call me a Unilocal-O-Holic!

I love white spot but this location was horrid. Started with the parking which is non existent even at 8pm on a Tuesday! We waited about 5 mins to be seated. The server was excellent but the food was such a disappointment. I should of stuck with usual Monty mushroom burger or the chicken Caesar wrap, but I decided to try the Chipotle Chicken quesadilla. Well if you want for $ 10.99, a soggy quesadilla that tastes and looks worse than soggy cardboard with no chicken and just sauce then order it. I think they added all these peppers to hide the missing chicken! Fries and coleslaw, always good and never a disappointment! The shrimp club sandwich was alright but not as good as any other locations. I don’t know why??? Thumbs down. Only reason 3 stars is for the server girl who was awesome, polite and prompt. The food, oddly I’d rather go eat at the food court upstairs inside the mall.

I came out to Canada for a business trip and a fellow co-worker had mentioned that this was like the BJ’s of Canada. So I thought, why not? Let’s check it out. It really was like a BJ’s and the service was really good. I had to order the POUTINE since it was such a popular dish to enjoy in Canada and a side CAESARSALAD. The poutine was definitely on the heavy side and was a good balance because I had the salad, but I could barely get through half of it because it was sooooo much fries! Overall, my experience was very enjoyable. ENJOY!

Great service when you arrive before 9 am on a Sunday. Easy to park, clean, and we had no problem getting a coveted booth, even if it was by the kitchen. Breakfast bun was like a fatty cheeseburger without the benefit of the fatty cheeseburger. Thank god I got the triple o on the side as it was absolutely disgusting with the egg. It’s what I should have expected I guess, but a burger bun is not my idea of a pleasant bread to eat at breakie. I did love my hashbrowns which I’d recommend in lieu of the«smashbrowns» that were heavily advertised. The omelette looked like a better choice but the mushrooms were not really well-cooked and not too appetizing. The coffee is decent, all things considered, and was refilled frequently. They do not offer skim milk here. Since I never go to Richmond, I thought this would be fairly close to the airport. It was still at least a 10 minute drive away and that was speeding and w/out any traffic. Before a flight I would recommend going somewhere that opens at 9 in the city and take it to go instead, unless you really wanted to sit down. It was not worth going here early, but it was the only place open and at least we weren’t rushed. If I had been here any other time of day or on a weekday I imagine it would have taken far longer to get here, park, and receive our meal, especially after I read some of the other reviews. Still, it seems to be a hot diner in Richmond and still evokes pleasant childhood memories, even if my NY’er companion said that«it’s just a diner». If I had to go to WS again, I would stick to the burgers and other diner food at dinner time. As disappointed as I continue to be, my fond memories keep bringing me back for more! *Funny note* –apparently the uni campus in Virginia also has a WS; no surprise that they are not part of the same chain but there IS one in HK now!

3 ½ stars. We had brunch here a few days ago, and I thought it was decent. I had the Steelhead Eggs Benedict with 3 pieces of potatoes. I’m not sure if it was worth the price ’cause portions were kind of small. The place is attached to the mall, so they were busy. Service was good, but prepare to wait.

I’m a fan, yet I can’t give them 4 Unilocal stars… why you ask? Well, basically White Spot is the American version of Denny’s. *Ducks and hides* Now before I start getting Canadian hate mail, let me finish, this is a complement, in a round about way… seriously… The location is very busy, we totally lucked out on rock star parking, as we stopped here for a quick bite before entering Vancouver proper on Mother’s day, eh! The service was decent and the food was just okay. No one got sick afterward, unlike a prior visit to Denny’s in the States, so that’s good, right? We kept to the simple things on the menu, I had a open face hot turkey sandwich, Mrs had the pulled pork sandwich, Boy-san and Gramps had a burg, other assorted items from the menu were chosen. Each one came out hot and decent enough. I must say, this place was packed, must be the location. And I will say, I have never seen so many Asian peeps eating spaghetti in one place, maybe I missed something??? White Spot, it never misses the spot…*rim shot* *bows* Thank you very much… remember to tip your server, I’m here all week…
