Starlit Nails

They did a really good job with my nails but when it was time to remove them, they didn’t know how to do it properly and not only did they make the process painful but my nails got damaged a lot. I haven’t been able to grow my nails since January because they are so weak and damaged after the bad removal they did.

I’ll never go there again, it always seems to be Jessica or Mandy who worked on my nails. At first everything was fine great, but after going there just a few times, they started getting rough with my nails and sloppy. When i would ask to correct it they would just say its my fault for asking for it! Even though its the same shape they were able to do all the other times! It got to the point where they started to tell me if i don’t like it then i can leave and find another place, while Jessica was in the middle of doing my nails! I would not recommend this place at all. Its way over priced for the quality and service you get. The 1 start is strictly for quality. There service deserves a 0.

I want to say I’ve never written a bad review in my life. I’ve experienced bad service but never to the point of wanting to write a review about it. First off, I had made an appointment for 11:30am but I tend to always show up to my appointments a bit early (this was no exception). I politely walked in and told them to take their time because I knew I was early and she was in the middle of finishing up with a customer. The two technicians working began to shit talk the customer that was before me. They were speaking Vietnamese to each other, I guess thinking I couldn’t understand them but little do they know I am fluent in Vietnamese. They were making racist comments alluding to the fact that she was dark skinned. They were making snarky comments like «Her skin is so dark and she chose a color so dark, I can’t tell if I’m painting her nails or her skin.» I was immediately turned off. One of the women looked back at me at one point I guess to see if I had reacted but of course I played it cool and pretended I had no idea. When I finally got seated, the technician, I think her name was Jessica, initially did a great job with my acrylic set, she gave me the shape I wanted and was polite when I had asked her to file my nails done a bit shorter. It got bad when she started to paint my nails. She kept complaining to the other technician, in Vietnamese again of course, about how difficult my nails were to paint because my hand has a slight tilt to the side. She was making comments like «I can’t stand her nails/​This is so annoying/She’s making my work look so bad/She’s going to have to deal with this shit job/It’s her own fault.» I was appalled but when I asked her what was the matter, she just smiled and said «Oh nothing, I’m just going to repaint them.» After about 20 minutes of repainting them she told me I had to choose a different color. I refused of course because why am I not allowed to choose my own color? That absolutely makes no sense. Her and coworker continued to talk shit about me and the other customer, Jessica even tried to talk shit to me about the other girl which I found extremely unprofessional. After 1.5 hours she finally finished. My nails were clumpy and the sides weren’t even filled in. She kept smiling and saying «Okay, finished.» while in Vietnamese told the other girl «I’m over it. I don’t wanna work on it anymore.» I paid and left but as I was walking out the door I overheard Jessica saying «Her nails are too difficult to work with.» Needless to say, I am never coming back again.

I went to Starlit without an appointment for a pedi and mani, and they seated me right away. I got regular polish for my toes and gel nails for my hands. The mani and pedi included a short massage so that was a nice addition to the whole experience. They had sanitary, one-​time use flip flops for the pedi unlike most salons in Richmond BC. The quality of the mani and pedi was pretty good and the price was great, $ 57 before tips. This is including everything I listed above so it is pretty reasonable.

I pay little more money but I keep my nails more long time. thanks!!!I so happy when I saw my nails

I’ve been to this nail salon twice but will never go back again. I did a set of acrylics both times, the first time I got it done with some jewels that fell off after 2 days, and the glue was really obvious. I asked for almond tip and they gave me round. BUT, they were able to do it within an hour which was the fastest I’ve ever gotten them done. the second time, I decided to go for a more basic look, so I only added jewels to my ring finger. they told me they were Swarovski crystals, but then some color started to peak through after a few days. and it turned out to be different multi-​Coloured jewels that were painted silver. they charged me $ 10 per nail for the «Swarovski crystals» I also tried to redeem a promo offer they had on their Instagram for 15% off but they tried to play it cool and pretend they didn’t know what I was talking about, until I had to actually pull it up on my phone. never coming back here again

They where so good at doing my nails this was the first time ive gotten acrylics done and they did it perfectly it was also done in less then 30 min i love my nails

I just want to start off by saying that I have never left a negative review for any services. I’ve been going to starlit for the last few months because of the price and decent quality. No comments on the service because there really isn’t any. Today I made an appointment to get a shellac color change but they ended up giving me a manicure so charging me an extra $ 8. They lady never asked what shape of nail I wanted so I told her I wanted them round. Before I could finish my sentence she cut me off and said «I’m not done yet.» I told her again when she was finally done and she’s like oh you wanted round? In the end, my nails turned out half round half squared. Off to a bad start already. When it was time to pay I used my debit card and as usual I pulled out my card when it said approved. There was something wrong with their machine and the receipt printed without an amount but no message saying transaction incomplete. I showed the lady the approved message and she saw it. She asked me to try again and I refused because it clearly said approved. I called my bank on the spot to confirm and it indeed went through. I stood there waiting for them to fix their machine when it really wasn’t my problem that it wasn’t working. I’ve done everything on my end to ensure I’ve paid. I was really frustrated with the experience especially when they tried to get me to pay again and making me wait until they fixed THEIR problem. I’m NEVER going back again and I urge you to do the same.

Cheap, basic, Shellac Mani-​Pedi. Went in in the middle of the week and there was one other customer there. Got done in under an hour. I’m an introvert so no conversation was good to me. Watched TV or used my phone. End result was ok and I was actually glad it was so fast because I had somewhere to be, but I might just take the time to get an appointment at a better (almost same price) place in Vancouver.

spent 42 $ for pedicure, left unhappy. even though i made an appointment, i still waited 45 mins, including 30 mins with feet in cold water… no single apology just ignored it. skillful but my butt was really hurting from sitting for 1 hour and 45 mins. staff don’t bother say a word to their customers, they chat amongst themselves non-​stop in their language. in the end, no one even told me it was done, they simply walked away and i had to figure out myself – okay it’s time for me to pay and get out of there… honestly, there are so so many nail salons out there, why would i go back there spend money and feel mistreated: S

Today I went in to get 1 nail removed and shellac, the «technician» didn’t know how to remove acrylics (that I had done there previously). She not only did not remove the nail, she butchered my natural nail shape by cutting back the nail while the fake was still attached and sliced into my real nails down to the nail bed. I was bleeding and in severe pain no apology and no offer of a bandaid.
I will NEVER go back here, they are not properly training staff before working with customers. My fake nail is still attached and have my real nail cut in the middle but attached above and below where she cut it. Hours later I am still in serious pain.

For a man to get a pedicure these days is very normal, however I’ve been searching for that one place that doesn’t make me feel awkward and out of place. Although there was a small language barrier they made awesome conversation with me and made me feel very welcome! I will defiantly be going back!

I have tried many nail salons at many prices, some of them charge me more than hundred of dollars. But this one is the best that I’ve ever had! Fast, good quality, and friendly service. I can tell they have lots of experiences in doing nails. Will still come here next time in Vancouver!

Tracy is the best nail tech! I’ve been a long time customer at starlit nails. I always walk out very satisfied with my nails. Everyone is so sweet and nice and they will do your nails the way you want them done. The price for it is fairly cheaper than most nail salons too. They also do waxing and pedicures so if you want a mini spa day starlit nails will definitely be of help. I highly recommend every girl that loves to get their nails done to go to starlit. xoxo
