I have been looking for a place in the Pacific Northwest that serves Portuguese Roast Chicken for a long time. Nando’s is the closest that I’ve found. It originated in South Africa serving Portuguese — style chicken paired with the South African Piri-piri sauce. They expanded to London, then all over the Commonwealth. This particular restaurant was the first in BC, and opened 22 years ago. The chicken is tender, moist, and packed with flavor. They marinate it for 48 hours, roast it, then finish it on the grill. The Piri-piri sauce has a great taste in addition to it’s punch. The service is friendly and helpful. They are rightfully proud of their product. The price is right. This chicken is addictive.

Great place. Why go anywhere else for chicken. Nandos does it right. I like the sweet potatoes and garlic sauce. This place is healthy and good. The price is not bad for the amount of food you get.

We love coming to Nando’s. They have great food, wonderful service, and good value for their food. My all time favorite is their grilled liver. But I like it with the lemon and herb sauce only. Although I like spicy food, the liver seemed to just not taste right with the peri-peri sauce. But with lemon and herb, it’s perfect! Their grilled chicken is the bomb. It’s cooked just right: tender and juicy. It goes very well with their peri-peri rice. We love to dip the chicken with their garlic sauce. I used to hate the Portuguese buns, since they served them at room temp or cold. And even when they’re warm, the buns were not that tasty, for my taste buds. Having the garlic bread option made a difference. I love these buns. They’re served warm and crunchy. Both our toddlers love ‘em. I appreciated the staff at this location for being very helpful and for being efficient. While ordering, we had to split the type of chicken since some wanted spicy and others couldn’t tolerate spicy food. The person who received our order suggested the best option for us that allowed us to get what we wanted and end up paying less for the amount of food that we were getting. This place comes highly recommended from us, especially our 3-yr old, who had ½ piece of chicken!

If your hungry, don’t go here. The chicken itself is tasty, but is barely enough to feed a small child! Spoke to the Manager about this, since this is the second time we thought we would give it a try, he didn’t seem to give a dam. Contacting Head Office, I’m that annoyed. Possibly try KFC instead!

Love this nando’s location. Chicken always fresh, which seems hard to get at our locations like kerrisdale and downtown. Staff is friendly and service is on point.

My first time in Richmond branch. Their coleslaw is different from the other Nando’s that I’ve been too. Shouldn’t it be standard recipe for all? I like the coleslaw better in other branches. Sat out in the patio in this nice sunny day with Latin music. I love Nando’s chicken!

Impromptu dinner on my own. Was welcomed nicely by «welcome to Nando’s» and I asked about Celiac and Gluten Free options but cashier did not know. She went to the back to grab packaging so I could take a look at the ingredients in simply the cole slow & peri peri sauce. She was neither knowledgeable nor interested in helping me either way so I looked at the ingredient list, looked online for info and decided to place an order for ¼ chicken and fries. Tasted delicious and happy I stopped in. Tables were clean, nice music, good smelling atmosphere! #celiac Constant stream of walk ins & phone calls. I’d come back again with a coupon for sure!

is the chicken normally suppose to be dry and look reheated? there was no moisture in the chicken at all.

Great service, sometimes a bit slow getting the food, but then again it’s usually quite busy(attesting the quality of food), No complaints whatsoever!

This Nando’s has been consistently great over the years. This time I finally had their medium spicy chicken instead of doing just the lemon pepper. Amazing. I even got the young one to eat some of it, though she steadfastedly declares that she doesn’t do spicy. Yeah, right! She wouldn’t touch her rice though. :( Nando’s is one of the few places I can think of in Richmond with outdoor tables, which makes it a good choice for families with restless offspring. The view is nothing to write home about though, just your standard mini-mall surroundings.

Marinated in a secret sauce then BBQed on a grill, that’s how I like my chicken and that’s how they do it. The peri peri sauce is good and this is the only BBQ chicken I eat. They have a lot of locations around town and adding more all the time. This is a shop I get to once in awhile, it has easy parking which for Richmond is bonus. They have changed their hot sauce in all their restaurants, now the hottest is really hot, well done Nando’s.
