I come here quite often just because it’s close to the gym and convenient. The thing that draws me in are the 50% off products, the milk is usually good for another 3 days and the 50% sandwiches are good for a quick bite the day I buy one. Customer service is severely lacking in this store, like I said I come in here often, I’ve also been coming here for a few years and none of the employees are very friendly, I had one way back when who was actually quite patronizing when I was looking for a certain ice cream… but that was eons ago. I don’t know if this is typical of all IGA stores but this one does not refrigerate it’s produce upon delivery. This summer has been unusually hot. I bought a pack of strawberries that looked good at first but then as soon as they were lifted out of the container were covered in grey mould… that’s caused by the heat.

The biggest anchor in this plaza, located on the quieter east side too. typical big size store, and fresh candies and nuts on the way to Silvercity ;)

Your Average Mid-Size Grocery Store. Prices are higher than Sav-On or Superstore, and the selection is not as good. But you don’t have to fight crowds, and you can park your car 60 ft from the front door. Take note: IGA isn’t open the extended hours of the bigger chains, so don’t come looking to shop at 10PM.

I’m not normally an IGA gal but recently I discovered their Whole wheat honey flax rolls! Delicious snack size rolls, I love the hint of honey. The reason why I’m writing this review is to give Kudos to the bakery department. I happen to be in the area of this Richmond location and went in looking for the rolls. The lovely lady at the bakery department said they didn’t carry them but would bake some if I placed an order. I received a call the next morning, they freshly baked six for me and put them aside. Now that’s service!
