We specifically told Dr. Luciuk(and his assistants, and wrote on the form) that we weren’t concerned with environmental allergies — our visit was exclusively for food allergies for our autistic son. He tested our son for environmental allergies anyway. We were under the impression that that was first and he’d do another scratch test down his other arm for food allergies… not so. He very abruptly(at the END of our appointment) insisted that wasn’t possible, and the only way to test for food allergies was a several week elimination diet. I’ve since talked to several others, including a developmental pediatrician, who have confirmed that you can do a scratch test for food allergies.
