i tried it the first time and i love it. For $ 4 something and i got a large portion of Raspberries tart. In addition, the tangerine tart is not overwhelming sweet. Service is awesome. The french bread there is also fantastic coz they used a special kind of butter to make it. Give it a try!

I saw L’adoree Salon de The Café grand opened and advertised on Chinese online magazine weeks ago. I hesitated to check it out coz Chinese high tea shop at Richmond, wouldn’t be classy or steeped in the English tradition high tea shop like urban merchant or Hotel Vancouver. How about casual Asian style like L’Opera Patisserie? We had quick lunch after Pepper Lunch and wanted find a place to continue our woman talk. L’adoree popped up in my mind and suggested to my friend to check out it. When we walked in, there was no customer inside. O… really? Sat afternoon at 2ish. We stood in front of pastry chiller display and tried to check out pastries, we asked her few chocolate cakes in details. She was shocked and didn’t know what we were asking until my friend spoke to her in Mandarin. Kidding me? The staff(young girl) had no idea what they were selling? She wasn’t fluent in English nor able to explain the pastries to the customer. We didn’t bother to order the high tea set and just picked 2 cakes with cappuccino. Tiramisu was great, the flavour come together just lack of a bit rum. Chocolate truffle was mediocre, it tasted like chocolate mousse cake but I liked it coz not too sweet. Cappuccino was poor! For cappuccino, it should be equal portions of espresso, milk and foam. I felt like I got Latte! We were sitting there over an hour, the staffs didn’t come over and check on us. They were only at the counter chatting and playing on their phones. We had to waive them over to get a cup of hot water. Seriously, this is the new way or new generation to run the business? Good luck!
