Tons of options and combos! Whatever you could want on your shaved ice they probably have. We ordered the largest size(8 toppings) and it was the perfect amount for 4 people. They also have various honey toast options if you’re not that into shaved ice. The parking situation was kinda complicated because all the spots are reserved for different shops and icy bar only had 2 spots which were full. We arrived there before 9 and it was decently full and when we were done at 10 there were quite a few parties waiting and it was only a Tuesday! All in all it was one of the better shaved ice places I’ve been to and I highly recommend for as a post dinner dessert to share On another note whoevers playlist they were playing in the restaurant was bomb

I came to Icy Bar once again after my few bad experiences because my friend really wanted to come, but this time I tried the mango pancake and it actually turned out to be decent. However, my previous review still holds true.

Saw it on recommendations for yummy mango treats on Vancity Buzz tried it I got the 4 toppings pearls, pudding, mango and strawberries asked for coconut milk with it and Mango ice cream they gave it to me in a bowl and it was actually pretty big but I did finish it. Cost me $ 12 but definitely worth it. they give you a bottle of condense milk so you can drizzle it on your self on how much you want =) reasonable amount of tables and chairs for the size of this place. and best part they ACCEPTDEBIT!(not a lot of chinese places in Richmond do…) I will come back and definitely recommend to try it out! :)

Ended up coming here, initially wanted to go to Snowy Village, but the wait there was ridiculous. Came here, wasn’t a good choice. Ordered 2 ice plates, however there were more chunks of ice and not enough toppings. On to the next…

As I walked in here for the first time, a table of four was leaving, looking upset, never receiving food after a long wait. I anxiously ordered a tofu pudding and a regular milk tea. The tofu pudding came after a reasonable wait time. It was authentic and yummy! I do recommend it! The problem was the drink. When it came, it was 4⁄5 filled with huge chunks of ice(I did not ask for extra ice). I took two sips and there was no more! When I order a milk tea drink at Deer Garden/Bubble World, it’s the same size cup and its too much for me to finish. I called the waiter over to indicate this, but he said«this is how everyone makes it.»(???) So I had to pay $ 5 for big chunks of ice. Not to mention, it tasted nothing like milk tea. It was just milk. Do they even have a recipe for drinks? Blegh!!! TL; DR Dessert is good, stay away from drinks

I saw this reviewed on the December 14 front page of Unilocal. This place is open in the afternoon and runs late, therefore, this is awesome spot to hit after work. Minutes walking distance from Aberdeen station. Décor is dark wood. It’s a small place, however, ample seating. The first few times I walked by at various times before actually dining here it was never busy, therefore, no worries about getting a seat, however, beware of the Saturday night crowd. The menu has a decent selection, typical like other dessert places in Richmond. Customer service was okay. They didn’t go above and beyond to make me feel welcome but they didn’t make me feel unwanted either. Music was a little loud… actually too loud that I had a hard time concentrating on working on my zine, therefore, my visit was only the duration of how long my dessert lasted. I had the mango toast. Not as I was expecting(honey toast style), however, it is toast that has a cake like consistency with ice cream and mango on top. Prices are okay, cash encouraged.

We ordered the 3 mixed icy combination — I had mango, mango mochi, and taro on mine. My friend had mango toast and my other friend had the 3 icy combo as well — watermelon, mango, and lychee. The mixed icy comes with coconut milk and arrives in a tall glass cup, so it looks more like a drink. Very delicious! The place was full when we came in tonight since they are well known for their other locations. The décor is plain and casual, and the females staff was okay — nothing special about them since it’s unfortunately a regular thing in Richmond for Chinese customer service to be non-existent or semi-tolerable. My only thought is that the tables near the washroom aren’t attractive since you can see into the washroom hallway and a gross looking creaky old sink is in plain sight. It would be advisable to put a curtain hanging from the ceiling there to cover that ugly area from the patrons. My complaint is that the music was way too loud since we could barely hear each other talking. It was nightclub music, but we prefer something softer since we associate dessert with comfort and relaxation. The music did not match with the café. I definitely give 4 stars for the desserts — they were full of flavor, affordably priced portions. I will come here often for sure. The bonus is that this café also takes debit and credit card, when most venues in Richmond only take cash.
