Currently having a MAJOR issue with this company, however I am still in the midst of getting things resolved. Will update once my issue is resolved… or not… At the moment my opinion is not at all positive Update: Jan 12⁄15 Well EB Games pulled through. I am pleasantly surprised. Received an entire store credit which I thought was fair. Well deserved thanks to all involved.

Don’t know about other EB stores; But from my personal experience, this store, as of November 2012, is not great. I visited this store and traded in 8 games for a single copy of Halo 4(for my teenage sons). A girl, who was the assistant manager as I later found out, tried to sell me some replacement policy for $ 5 extra dollars. I declined the offer courteously with a smile. But I noticed that her attitude towards me changed slightly. She then told me that I would be issued a store credit instead of being paid back in cash for my trade-ins. So I decided to take back one game and pay a balance. Although I was careful to ask the girl to return my driver’s license(for security about the trade-ins) in the end, she was not careful enough to give me back my credit card. After I found my credit card missing the second day, I called the store and spoke with the store manager. She told me they didn’t have my credit card. I asked her to check with the girl I dealt with the previous day. She told me it was her day off. I asked her to perhaps give her a call, her response is: «I am not going to call her on a day off just for this matter. Why don’t you call your credit card company and get a new card?» Perhaps it was my accent, perhaps it was my ethnic name, but something tells me this lady was not willing to help me at all, even though I was a paying customer yesterday. I told her that I found her customer service skills absolutely horrendous and I doubted how her business could succeed. Upon hearing this, she actually hung up on me! Although the assistant manager was perhaps careless, the manager is simply too impolite, impatient, unhelpful, unprofessional to be in the sales business. She doesn’t even know the art of maintaining a respectful conversation with a customer. Being a businessman myself, I hope she either becomes more professional, or gets another job that is less demanding of a balanced personality. I will certainly not be giving any more business to this store. And I will be telling people this story about this store for a long time!

EB Games are hit or miss, really. It’s a chain that has almost zero competition(a stand alone, video game dedicated store), so the incentive to provide customer service isn’t very high. But! There are some diamonds in the rough, and I really like this location. The employees were all genuinely nice(kind of a rarity in the EB Games/Gamestop franchise), AND when I called about 10 minutes after close someone still picked up(I didn’t realize the store had closed already). AND, last but not least, they held a copy of a game for me that was sold out at every other location in the greater Vancouver area. Is EB Games as a company a great one? Not really. Is this particular location? Yes, definitely.
