Looking at the number of reviews, I suppose it goes without saying that this place is not very well-known. Then again, most of the shops and restaurants in Lansdowne Mall are just as obscure and anonymous. Depending on who’s working the quality in food and drinks will vary. I recommend their blended beverages though and you can always tell the barista exactly how you want it prepared(less sugar, skim milk… etc). If you’re tired from shopping and need a quiet place to sit and relax, check this place out!

This is a small coffee shop tucked away in the forgotten corridors of Lansdowne Mall. I’ve been searching fruitlessly for a coffee experience in Richmond comparable to what is available in Vancouver downtown and the Broadway /Main street area. Just something akin to Artigiano’s would be great. Sadly, Divas coffee has very little to recommend to it. Its an average café with maybe Starbucks quality lattes. The owner seems stressed out trying to cover all her bills. There’s a large section seemingly devoted to sandwiches, crepes and bubble teas but I didn’t see anyone order those. The location of the shop is strange. Its just a little too far off in the corridors of Lansdowne, not particularly close to anything. Its not in the food court. Its opposite an orthodontic centre. I think most of their customers are from the shops nearby who are too lazy to walk further. The café just makes me feel sad. Its like the owner has tried everything to make it work, invested in a bunch of other things to sell but no one is buying. And the basic thing, the coffee, is not special enough to entice me to go back for more. I had a latte the other morning from Gene Café at Main and Kingsway. OMFG. memories of all my great past experiences with café lattes in Europe, from Milan to Venice to Versailles came rushing back. The bitterness, the depth, the aroma, the thick crema. It was an absolutely perfect latte. A good coffee is irresistible. And unfortunately, Divas coffee didn’t deliver.
