In my previous Unilocal existence I had written 2 reviews, possibly 3 of them. Today my review is based on the current food we had here for 2015. I don’t consider myself a regular, but when I crave Korean food in particular Korean BBQ, I will come here. Truthfully there isn’t that much to choose from in Richmond. I like this place. It’s very Korean. Sounds a bit weird to say this, but I like it for that fact. They have various rooms of various sizes for couples and families and large parties. The food is consistent and I’m never worried about being surprised. The only thing I noticed is the salads can change from time to time. That can be a surprise. Make sure to bring some money if you bring an appetite with you. Or come with a large group and share in the cost to save a bit of money. If you dine alone, you can still have a good affordable meal. The Kimchee tofu soups are good. However, for those dishes, they’re all secondary to what you are really here for: BBQ. The handy bell /ringer on each table alerts a server that you are needing service. Ratings? . Went here for a late Sunday lunch with my sister and parents. The restaurant was almost empty, so service was fast. Not being sure about portion sizes, I ordered a large seafood jjajangmyun, which was HUGE. While it wasn’t bad, it certainly was far from the best I’ve had. The rest of the family agreed that it was OK, but nothing special. We wish the waiter had been back to refill the side dishes and tea. Prices are not expensive for Korean food, so we will probably be back, and try the BBQ.

For some reasons, there’s less choices of restaurants in Richmond open on Tuesday night. We ended up here as we were craving for Korean tofu soup. The food is OK(2.5 stars). Service is OK, too(2.5 stars). They have BBQ combo set for larger group of people. However, it seems too much for just two of us. For take out, they packed each small dishes. So, I would say, it is a good value for to-go.

food ok, but they seriously need to re-train their regular workers with some customer service attitude.

Food was good as good as most restaurants. Not the greatest I’ve had but I enjoyed it. My issue was with the service. Not very attentive. I didn’t tip but i’m not an easy tipper. I expect above average service for a tip. Therefore, I just paid my bill without a tip. They had the gull to ask me specifically for a tip. Message to the manager: If you want tips, smile and don’t ignore my hand up as you walk by.

I just had dinner here and since it’s a Wednesday night we were seated right away for 2 in a spacious booth. My boyfriend and I are big fans of korean bbq and we love to get their set menu C for 2 here. They had generous portions of beef short ribs, beef slices, pork slices, and pieces of chicken. Along with the set were about 8 side dishes, 2 rice bowls, and a huge steaming seafood hot pot. Everything was marinated nicely and we were completely satisfied by the end of the meal. The prices were reasonable for a korean bbq restaurant, and they also give you a cash coupon(for a few dollars) for our next visit. Overall I’d give this place a huge thumbs up for great service and delicious food!

I’m going to be completely honest with you here: I detest asian food. I won’t touch sushi, won’t eat any sort of Chinese, Vietnamese or Japanese food of any type. I’m a meat and potatoes kind of girl. So when I tell you how much I love this place, you have to understand how much it shocks the people I’m with. My boyfriend and I come here every six months or so(we’re foodies so we like to eat out at different places every month), and get the same thing everytime: The meat platter(or a facsimile thereof). The portions are HUGE, the sides are non-stop and I’ll eat over half of them(again, saying a lot), and the staff, albeit not the most attentive, I have no complaints with. I took my parents here when they were up to visit, and they had so much fun too! My mom attempted to eat with chop sticks, but to no avail. This is the family I came from. All in all a good experience, and I keep coming back for more.

Always come back to here for Korean BBQ in Richmond. The food here’s great, haven’t been disappointed so far. Service wise… depends. I personally think the owner provides pretty good services. Otherwise, the other waiters or waitresses are so-so.

I haven’t returned to this Korean restaurant since May 2008. My colleague and I were going to Villa Vietnamese Cuisine for lunch, however, it closed down and replaced by India Restaurant. Therefore, we went over the next block for Korean food. When we walked in, it wasn’t too busy. During lunch time, they only have 1 server on the floor. But, he is super-efficient and not attentive. In general, food was fairly ok for average price. The small dishes were tasteless Beef stone bowl rice was average. Spicy Seafood noodle was not spicy and not few pieces of seafood in it. I’m sure that there are plenty of better Korean restaurants in Downtown or Burnaby.

A good surprise for a Korean restaurant in Richmond. Plenty of parking in the lot, A cozy décor with lots of tables, we came here on a Friday night to find it quite busy. There’s lots of selection on their menu, with BBQ sets as well as ordering a la carte. Between the 6 of us, we got a bimbibap and a albap(cod roe stone bowl rice), japchae, and deep fried gyozas, For the BBQ, we got a dish of the pork belly and 2 plates of the beef short ribs. Of course, this also came with their side dishes. The gyozas were absolutely delicious. Eight large pieces of dumpling, lightly deep fried, encompassing a mix of pork, shrimp and cabbage. The beef shortribs came in a plate of 4 pieces, which was a small portion considering it was $ 15.95. They were good ribs though, none of the chewy meats that can be served at other places. Refilling the side dishes were no problem, and the servers always made sure that we were ok. Overall, food was good, service was decent, and the space is clean and spacious. Free entertainment also provided via K-pop music videos playing on their TVs!

introduced to me by my korean coworker. yum! the food quite homey. i had the seafood tofu soup and it was delish! i love spicy food, so if you can’t take too much spice, make sure you let the waiter know to make it less spicy. it came with side dishes and free refills, which absolutely made my day. :) recommended by my coworker is also their bbq. i will def go back to give that a try!

I was surprised at this joint. It was close to our hotel and we were really hungry to go too far out into Richmond. So we went here. It was disappointing that the kitchen couldn’t do the cooking for us(most Korean BBQ places offer this to avoid smelling like the restaurant). But the food was good, portions were okay. A good choice of side dishes. Friendly staff and clean toilets. I can’t stress enough, I was surprised by the experience. Would go again in a pinch.

This place has nice staff and clean, but the food was terrible. For c$ 90 and four of us came out still hungry. The BBQ was not good and not much! Come on, if your food is not good, as least has quanlity, this place is lacking both, not much food and doesn’t taste that good. You’ll find any other Korean restaurant better than this place. Waste of money and very very disappointed. Our friend told us about this place and that was why we gave it a try, but, very very disappointed! They only gave us 3 pieces of thin slices of fish cakes while we had 4 people. Should we split them? Those fish cakes didn’t taste good, neither. Don’t waste your money there.

Honey found this place recently while working a job in Richmond and we’ve been here a few times now. Most recently we went with the monsters — aka my adult children My son, bless his stomach, isn’t very adventurous and not much for spicy foods but loves Korean BBQ. I guess it’s the meat-a-tarian in him. Daughter, bless her heart, is vegetarian — but has just returned from a trip to Korea and even though it has only been 3 days since her return she was craving some of her favourites We’d have to give it 8 thumbs up for atmosphere(K-pop music, lots of Korean customers, great service) and the food was delicious as usual. We always end up ordering a bit too much, as much as we try not to. The server was helpful and didn’t pressure us to get a larger meat platter as is the case at other places we’ve been. He cautioned that daughter’s choices were both spicy but when we replied that she’d just returned from the country, he was all smiles. We rolled out of there all very happy with ourselves. We will be sure to return as we love the format as well as the food and service. Highly recommended.

This place has a large menu selection to choose from. Yummy Korean barbecue that you can grill at your table or have them do it for you. I love the tons of side dishes they offer, some of them were new to me(sweet onion, tofu). My favourite were the gyoza and the beef bulgogi. The service is fast, there is lots of parking, and it is on the pheripheral edges of Richmond so its not too crowded.

They had some delicious Korean barbecue here. You can grill it at your own table or they’ll grill it for you. The short rib, the ghal bi, was maybe the best I’ve ever had. I also liked the chicken. A few of the side dishes, I think it’s called na mul, were different as well, including a sweet onion dish that I’d never had in other Korean restaurants. The Korean menu is fairly large and based on my first meal there I“d like to go back and explore other dishes if I lived in the area. It’s in a strip mall not far off Highway 99.
