Specialties
Balance in Motion is Richmond’s premier fitness studio offering personal trainers, fitness classes, injury rehabilitation, and many other services to help you get stronger and live healthier!
Our trainers are passionate, knowledgeable, and ready to help!
All of our trainers are highly knowledgeable certified professionals, holding a bachelor degree of kinesiology as a minimum. Our staff has worked with prestigious sports teams such as Volleyball Canada, The Vancouver Canadians, and the Richmond Rapids Senior National Development Team.
Personal training programs are custom designed to meet the needs and goals of each individual client. An initial assessment is the first step, in which we go over relevant medical history, past injuries, and observe your functional movement patterns to determine physical strengths and weaknesses. We offer one-on-one training, semi-private training, and group classes!
History
Established in 2008.
Balance In Motion was started in 2008 by president, founder, and life-long Richmond BC resident Andrea Lawson. Andrea’s passion for helping people lead her to pursue a degree at UBC in Human Kinetics Exercise Science, and soon after completing her studies she began to help clients and athletes from all walks of life to recover from injuries and achieve their desired fitness and conditioning.
In the coming years Andrea became more involved with local sports teams and athletes and gained a reputation for helping individuals and entire teams to achieve new levels of excellence. As the list of clientele grew and BIM’s reputation became more widely known, it was time for Andrea to bring on additional staff and trainers, as well as relocating to a new bigger and better gym, which was done in 2012.
Heading into the future, all of the staff at BIM are just as passionate and motivated as ever, constantly working to educate themselves and be on the cutting edge of exercise science.
