Vienna Bakery & Cafe

Never know that there is such a HK style restaurant with bakery in the mall. We walk in to try our luck. The price is not expensive at all. We order a shredded pork with thousand year old egg congee, fried egg with shrimp rice noodle and black pepper fried beef noodle. Surprisingly they are quick to have all the dishes on our table almost at the same time. Taste is good on all that we ordered. I will come back for takeout or a quick meal.
It also offers set dinner for 3 at $ 23.99, for 4 at $ 34.99 and so on.

Went for the afternoon tea yesterday and got the French Toast and pork chop bun. The French toast is huge — comes with 3 pieces. You can opt for peanut butter or condense milk for a small feee. I think it was 25 cents. The Porkchop Bun is as good as always. Love their milk tea here as well. Porkchop bun + hot drink = $ 4.50, French toast and hot drink = 3.99 for afternoon tea. Cold drink add 75 cents

i always go for the pork chop bun and fries! so melt in your mouth goodness. the french toast is deep fried comes with three slices. huge and heavy. however, need to order teh peanut butter and/​or condensed milk on top of the order. delicious and cheap diner! extremely good well made food. also fast service. recently renovated. this is definitely a hidden gem as it’s not very popular but food is pretty good
also the fish and chips not so bad coming from chinese diner, felt it was a wee undercooked. comes with two pieces, tartar sauce and fries.

Cheap, fast and consistent. I frequent Vienna whenever I’m in the area and in a rush.
The soup noodles are nothing to write about, but other baked or stir fry dishes have always been consistent. For the price of $ 5.99 or cheaper I could leave with my stomach full. You have the option to bundle up your meal to a combo which includes a drink, bread, as well as the soup of the day.
I’ve never bought anything from their bakery, but they’ve recently renovated the whole restaurant so that it’s much bigger.
I would say Vienna comes second to Phoenix Café in terms of HK style meals. Nevertheless, still a fan!

Its a very clean and modern little HK style café. They have many different special menus, so but sure to come in time for either the lunch special or the tea time special.
Their pork sandwich with salad is delicious. potato salad was on par with what’d you expect and the pork was done nicely.
Their bakery has a limited selection, you might want to come earlier when there more freshly baked.

This place has pretty good combos that come with a drink and large portions. The service is pretty bad though, especially on a Sunday. The bakery is mediocre, and you can find better «cha siu baos» and other typical Chinese baked goods on hwy 7.

Everything A-​OK! Right now, Most clean than before … Um … only the owner (laday) no good !! She seem hate everyone !!!

Vienna Bakery & Café is not an European bakery and café. You won’t find Danish, Croissants here or Deli sandwiches! Here there are rolls of rolls of Chinese buns and Afternoon Tea and Lunch Tea set for a few dollars.

— If I came 15 minute later, this will be the afternoon specials for $ 4.50. timing is everything! :)
— good mixture of meat and tendon, the rice noodle are the dried type though… not usual in Chinese restaurants.
— Size wise is a little smallish. great for light lunch or you on a diet! or Am I on a diet?
Services here is OK… waitresses just kept throwing menus in front of me, telling me what I can order, their subtle way to tell me what’s the best deal at this moment.

If you’re into Hk style value breakfast, this is the best place in Richmond hill to get you fill. Breakfast is served daily until 11:30. The standards such as eggs and toast with bacon are there, as is congee and even oatmeal.
But my favorite is the black pepper beef in vermicelli soup. It comes in a large portion enough to let you skip lunch. There might be more exotic and tastier breakfast such as good dim sum places, but for a simple breakfast, this place is well worth a visit.
A caveat is the black pepper beef can be spicy for those with weak taste buds, try the breaded pork chop in vermicelli soup, but that’s nowhere as good. Me, I add a couple of tablespoons worth of pepper on top to bring it out even more.

¹⁄₆ Chinese Bakery + ⁵⁄₆ Hong Kong style Café, Vienna is just a little tiny bit outside of your standard HK-​style Café mold as they have that wall for people to come in to select Breads and Pastries. When you come in they will have to ask you «How many people do you have?» since you’re walking into a restaurant even if you’re only their for the Baked Goods.
Standard Café, standard Cantonese show on TV, standard servers, standard special inexpensive Menus. What cost them that 1 extra *Star* is that my Afternoon Special plate of Fried Chicken Wing w/​Potato Salad ($ 4+) had 3 Wing Drummettes however ONLY 2 Wing pieces. Did this Chicken lose his Wings???
I took this as the CHEAPER alternative to Maxim Restaurant in the corner that offers Cakes and Drinks.
