The area was really pretty. Great view. I was just there for a friend’s wedding. I was really disappointed by their service, though. The waiters and the waitresses were not nice. They must have come out from a really bad meeting or something. The way they treated the guests were terrible. I enjoyed the wedding, but their services really left a bad aftertaste in my mouth. For instance, the waitresses must been in a hurry. They were very aggressive about clearing out the table. While doing so, a waitresses spilled leftover food my my dress. Secondly, our table needed a clarification on the difference between coffee and tea. The waitress who responded back to us was very rude and aggressive. Lastly, this was just plain rude. There was an elderly woman(grandmother of the bride) who need to go to the bathroom. She was getting help from her family member, walking very slowly toward the bathroom. For goodness sake, she is freakin 80+ Of course, she is going to walk slow because she physically can’t walk fast. Knowing this, one of the waitress was getting very impatient, in a very rude tone of voice said«excuse me!» That really threw me off and made me very angry. What the hell! The view and the venue is nice, but the service provided at the terrace was really bad. I’m really upset. Though I’m happy for my married friends, all of the small details left me frustrated. I would never have my wedding there.

Very beautiful spot for a wedding ceremony and reception. The wedding«hall» is much like a gussied up barn with hinged windows that can be closed to somewhat protect the guests from the elements. When the weather is nice, it offers a cool, shaded place with great sight lines overlooking the city. As I was the«help», hired to play music for the ceremony I know nothing of the pricing or even the interior of the banquet room. It looks great and would make for some lovely photos in the gardens. Definitely worth considering for wedding venue for a function of 125 or fewer guests.

A beautiful venue for your ceremony and reception overlooking a private lake. My friend recently got married here. I had never heard of it before, and at first I thought that it was so far north! BUT, I was wrong as it is conveniently just off of the 404(exit at Stouffville Rd.) *The Chapel* It was kind of small as it couldn’t even hold all 160 guests that had been invited. Also, because the weather wasn’t warm enough at the time, all the side doors had to be shut, so everyone had to enter from the centre aisle. Late-comers felt a little awkward walking down the middle and asking people to scoot over. The heating is from a gas space heater on the ceiling in the centre which unfortunately cannot really be regulated. One of the guests sitting at the centre came out because he was too hot and said that if he stayed in there, he’d probably come out like a roast pig! lol The lighting inside isn’t that good because the only windows are at the altar and the entry. Also, my friend had a quartet playing; we had to ask them to squeeze a little bit more to make sure there would be enough room for the bride to walk around the table. Despite all this though, the chapel was very cute and a cozy atmosphere. *The Reception Hall* It fits up to 17 tables plus head table very nicely. There’s a fireplace, too! And the tables close to the doors to outside have a beautiful view of the terrace and the lake. The dance floor is a good size for the size of the hall. There’s also a beautiful bridal suite which has it’s own bathroom, make-up area and sitting area with a fireplace. They even provide you with a garment steamer! The lobby of the building is beautiful with a circular design. It lets in all the light and again, you can overlook the terrace and lake. Also, they have a porch that was perfect for mingling when the sun was out. Luckily it was warm enough and we all enjoyed mixing and mingling outside. Again, beautiful view! *The Food* The food was absolutely delicious! The soup was a roasted red pepper bisque — nothing special, but it was good to wet the appetite. The main was«roasted chicken supreme with wild mushroom dressing». The chicken was so moist and my husband, who doesn’t usually like mushrooms, couldn’t get enough of this chicken! Last(but definitely not least) the grand marnier infused crème brulée was sooo good! And the fresh fruit on top complemented it perfectly. Unfortunately I can’t make any comment on the garden because it was a little too early for the blooms. Overall, the chapel was just okay, the reception hall is great, and the terrace and porch were amazing!
