Bathurst St Deli

Have been to this establishment a few times. The service and the food was good. The portion size was pretty good also. i would suggest trying the chicken soup!!! Also, they have pizza and it is really good.

We decided to go for breakfast and try this new place. Firstly, the décor was scary… the interior looked like it had not been re-​painted from the previous owner. one of the bench seats was falling apart… and there was a huge crack in one of entrance door transoms. It was also quite dirty. And now for the food… my daughter ordered lox and cream cheese on a toated bagel… the lox was fishey and the bagel was at best. warmed…not toasted… there was enough lox for 10 bagels. so it was thick and gross.
My husband and I ordered eggs with toasted bagels. The waitress asked us if we wanted any meat, and we said no. When she arrived with the food, there was a pile of homefries mixed with pieces of ham on each plate… Umm…that’s meat right? .Restaurant owners in this predominantly Jewish area would know not to serve ham mixed in with the homefries… in fact, whey would not even have that type of meat at all! Anyways… we made her take back the plates and start again… she seemd quite surprised that we did not want this meat in our homefries. She came back with the same bagels and the same eggs, just without the homefries. I told her that because the ham had been all over the bagels and eggs, the cook would have to prepare fresh meals. She was not pleased.
We finished our meals… but we will not be going back.
