Wok Box South

A friend and I stopped by Wok Box at 9:30pm on Saturday night. We were pretty happy to find something quick that was open so late in Red Deer.
We ordered 2 lemon chickens, green onion cakes and a bottle of water. It took the cashier a long time to understand what we ordered, and even longer for him to count the money and give change back. It was a little like playing bank with my 5 year old niece.
When we got the food back to the hotel and got into P. J’s and under the severely overwashed, pilly, polyester bedspreads and opened the boxes… surprise! There was no lemon sauce on the chicken. It was just deep fried chicken. And they forgot my water. I really hate having to pay for water, but drinking from a calcium crusted stained hotel sink makes me shudder.
So I called to complain about the food and the guy said «I cook it, I cook it the same every time.»
So Red Deer, I feel super bad for you if that’s true. I will never ever take Edmonton for granted again with our lemon chicken that actually has Lemon sauce on it. If anyone from Red Deer ever wants to come to Edmonton and try it for themselves, you won’t be disappointed. It’s lemon! It’s saucy! It has flavour! I suggest taking a sample back to Red Deer with you to show them at this location how it’s done.
Until then… Wok Box, You go on, «cook it the same.»

Are here yesterday. I only ordered the Cheesy Kim Chee balls and Spring roll combo. The spring rolls tasted very good and weren’t greasy at all but we’re very small. The Kim Chee balls were a bit «gummy» and I struggled to taste the Kim Chee. Overall for the price it was reasonable and my coworkers food smelled great! Will probably give them a try again while I’m up here working.

This Wok Box USED to be good, but now it sucks! Have you guys stopped trying? :(

Great place to eat, the food is always fresh and great. The atmosphere in the restaurant is awesome! Decent prices too. I’ll keep going back for sure!
