Came here Thursday afternoon for a 1 hour massage and Friday afternoon for a lash tint. The salon is located inside the iHotel off 67th street. You go into the hotel and to the right past the check in desk there are stairs that lead you down to the gym and spa. The spa is surprisingly quiet and very nicely decorated. I did not expect it to look like that hidden down in the basement of a hotel. I had Emily for my massage and she showed the locker rooms where they provide you with a full length locker, key on a chain, towels, flip flops and a big comfy robe to change into. Emily was really sweet and talked to me at the beginning of the massage to get my comfortable. Her pressure was perfect, you could tell she was trained and not some spa worker. She is a RMT(I find a big difference between ladies that just do massages at salons and RMTs) I got the Signature Solace Massage(Enjoy either our deluxe Swedish massage that combines pressure point techniques and our exclusive house-blended essential oils to promote head to toe balance and wellness; or our therapeutic massage that targets chronic tension and specific muscle groups. 60 minutes $ 74) Well worth it! At check out they provide you with a «6th visit card» which is a stamp card and every 6th visit of the same service is free! I definitely will come back to see Emily so I was excited for this card. Friday I came in and saw Sanjilin for my eyelash tint $ 25. She was very friendly and sweet. She lead me to the room and discussed colour options for my lashes. I knew I wanted the darkest colour so she mixed me up a blue-black. It turned out great and she was very thorough and gentle. I didn’t have any black smudges around my eyes and it did not burn at all. She also provided me with a 6th visit card at check out. Overall, my experience at Solace was great and can’t wait to return. If you’re in the Red Deer area this is definitely a spa to check out!

While there are several spas in Red Deer, few of them offer the same soothing ambiance or luxurious treatment as Solace Spa. As I was there to receive a hot stone massage, I was greeted with my own personal change room, locker, bottle of water, fluffy bathrobe, and slippers. The room where the massage took place was also spot on: perfect temperature, soft lighting, comfy massage table, ambient music. Overall my massage was pleasant, and the massage therapist managed to apply the right amount of pressure(there’s nothing worse than getting a weak massage — I have alot of knots!!). I guess my only complaint would be that spa is a bit pricey(my 1 hour hot stone massage was $ 89 — or $ 100 with a tip and everything). But to be fair, these prices are on par with many other spas in Calgary or Edmonton. An added bonus is that the Spa also accepts Wayspa gift cards, which are sold at grocery stores, etc. So if you are looking to use up a gift card, I would recommend checking out Solace Spa.
