I was thinking maybe I should give this place a three star, and here’s why: This mall has two high end jewelry stores, two leisure wear stores and two stores dedicated to soaps and lotions. Having said that… I got some great deals and some kick-ass merchandise. I spent a little more money than I intended to and even bought some stuff for myself. I wish I’d had more time to shop, but maybe that’s it’s a good thing I didn’t. The leisure wear stores, while being close together, each had different stuff that was unique and adorable. Skeleton and devil onesies? Wanted to buy them all. Cartoon underwear for him and her? I could go on and on. They had a Body Shop and a Bath and Body Works, both had great product and fantastic deals. I like how no one pounced on me as soon as I walked in. Can’t say that for Edmonton Malls. I got Marshmallow Pumpkin Latte body scrub and shower gel plus a Perfect Autumn Day body mist that smells like apples for less than $ 20. And coupons. The Body Shop had some great sales. I especially liked how i got an anti-aging pomegranate set worth $ 58 for $ 40. I renewed my Body Shop membership card for $ 10 and got to use it for $ 13 in savings. Love that. But their Ardene store is AMAZING. This store doesn’t stop at accessories and jewelry. They have clothes, footwear and pajamas.(Red Deer must be big on pajamas.) There’s an extensive selection of decent shirts, pants, scarves, etc at pretty fair prices. I could have spent an hour in there! Bought some cool stocking stuffers and a couple of cheap surprise bags that had not bad stuff in them. Not going to spoil it for you, but some of the items in them were worth five bucks or more on their own, and not everything was crap they just couldn’t sell. This place also has a decent sized food court and a Hudson’s Bay and Toys R’ Us. Next time I’m in Red Deer, I’ll try to make more time for this place.

This is a pretty impressive shopping centre for a city of 98000. It’s clean, bright, and filled with lots of stores(and every 2nd place seemed to have a sale). I killed a few hours here while waiting to fly out from my Red Deer meeting to a different one, and I wasn’t disappointed. The floorplan was a little confusing, but I’m sure that you figure it out once you’ve been around. I really didn’t come in needing anything, but left with a few full shopping bags! I would come back next time I’m in Red Deer.

Def agree with Janine W. this the better of the 2 malls in Red Deer. Recently moved from Toronto and almost had a panic attack when visiting all 2… yes two… malls in the city. They have essentials, Bath & Body Works, H&M, Target, Chatters, The Body Shop, La Senza, The Bay, Shoppers Drug Mary The mall is always kept very clean and the food court is quite good. I really like the little sushi place there.

With the two indoor malls in Red Deer, this is what I consider to be the better of the two. The brand selection is by far the best and is really pretty good. It’s clean, well kept and has a nice atmosphere. It’s food court selection is pretty standard but has something for everyone. If you are going to shop in Red Deer it’s the mall to visit.

As odd as it may seem, I always stop at Bower Mall when I’m in town. Yes, I live with easy access to Southgate Mall, Edmonton Centre and the monstrosity called West Edmonton Mall, but I pretty much always have a look at the shops in Bower. Over time, the selection of stores has gone upscale, even if it’s budget upscale with Red Deer’s H&M shop. So the selection has gotten better and there is much more brand availability. I always drop in because I almost always find some item or size that’s sold out in Edmonton or some brand that’s on sale here that would never gone on sale in the«big city». I’ve scored Oakley on sale(as much as 30% off), North Face, Merrel, Adidas, Perry Ellis, some times at clearance. I bought a Wii and Oakley Oil Cans when they were completely sold out with waiting lists in Edmonton. I got an Vancouver 2010 podium jacket at the Bower Bay when every Bay Olympic store in Edmonton looked like it was ransacked by Cossacks. I smile when people say the shopping is so much better in Edmonton or Calgary. We may have more selection, but that kind of migratory shopping can create some real bargains for us City folk.

This mall is as good as it gets in Red Deer. They have more upscale shops than Parkland and the overall impression is of a good mall that the owners take care of(it has a nice décor and ambience inside, especially at the big food court). You have a better chance of locating quality items at this mall than others in town and I’ve always found what I was looking for with little trouble.
