Loved the paella and sangria. Simple. Warm place in a cold city. That’s it. I found Quebec to be very reserved and not particularly gregarious. I was craving an environment that was welcoming and fun rather than aloof, businesslike, and indifferent and this place was sunny and festive in the middle of winter. Sounds like things can be hit or miss here based on what I have read in the other reviews. For me, it was a hit.

Pretty sure most of what we ordered was previously frozen. We had the calamari(have had better from the grocery store), octopus(negative stars), veal albondigas(meh, used the sauce to dunk our bread in) garlic snails were way over done. Service was sub-par. Red sangria was pretty good, sorry we stopped here.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Me and my boyfriend chose to go to this place on our last night in Quebec. There was a very nice lady at the door and she showed us the vegetarian options they had(I am a vegetarian) and they only had two tapas that were vegetarian. Despite this we decided to have dine here. We got sat down ordered the two options as well as a hug of sangria and got sass from the server saying«oh, that’s it?!» Like he was offended that these were the only things we were ordering. After a while our food came out, it was very below average. BUT the kicker, and why we hated this place was because we were not spoken to again by our server… at all… we were completely ignored for an hour and a half and then our bill was dropped off to us in silence, we were not asked if we wanted another drink or dessert or anything. Then we paid, and left very upset. So upset that my boyfriend decided to go back and complain to a manager. He asked for the manager and told him what happened… the manager(who was drunk) said«oh well, won’t happen next time. Sorry man I am a few beers in» HORRIBLEHORRIBLECLASSLESSPLACE!

While walking around we came across copas. The hostess outside talked with us nicely describing dishes and qty and looking at the couple good veggues dishes wifey was sold and so was I after hearing the chicken dish special We ordered garlic mushrroms and fried parmesan item which was really good. We also had white wine sangria which was really good. I ordered the chicken specially which came with soup and I got the vegetable soup and I have. not had.a.better soup in my life and it was really reallly awesomeeeeeeeeeeee. My chicken dish came with chicken with onion peppers and fries. The dish was bone in chicken which I was told boneless which dampened my mood but the taste. was really good. Wife.got the rice dish w vegetabkes all baked in oven in a big pan and it was really nice. Little bland but reallu good as u add some salt in it. The prices were $$$ but the service was really good and the experience of sitting out on grand alle at night is really good. Def awesome place to go

We stumbled into this restaurant on our last day in Quebec. Seemed a lovely place with a friendly lady at the door but the experience was a disaster. Served with stale and burnt bread and cold soup, the waiter suggested paella which was way tooooo salty & hard. The fish tasted funny too, but enough for that. It took the waiter a long time to bring our bill despite I told him that we need to leave soon for the airport. Finally he came over and told us, «we have a problem,» that they suddenly can’t take credit cards and we had to pay cash. We didn’t have enough cash or the time to find an ATM, and the waiter insisted that we pay USD1 to 1 because«that’s how it works». For the entire time he was not apologetic at all and rather rude as if we caused him the problem. How lucky it’s located just outside the tourist packed old Quebec so that it can keep attracting uninformed people who have to tolerate the awful food and service!

Sorry, but despite some of the beautiful pictures of the food and the glowing reviews, the food was inedible. I truly wanted to like this restaurant and was looking forward to the meal. The place is very cute and cozy, and the staff are really nice people, but the food was sorely lacking. I had ordered a cocktail and the paella for dinner. The waiter told me that for 3 dollars more I could have soup with it so I said ok. The vegetable soup was fine, it was in a small bowl with mostly celery and pasta. The margarita tasted more like a wine margarita and had an odd aftertaste. The paella was quite disappointing. The rice was very hard, and I realize it can be more firm with paella, but this was beyond al dente. The shrimp and fish were tasteless and tough, and the small pieces of chicken were mostly bone and the meager bits of chicken meat were too rubbery to enjoy. I let the waiter know that I simply couldn’t eat the paella. He apologized and came back, asking if I wanted another dish. I declined since I had no confidence in the cook. The waiter took the charge off of the check, which was fair, but I was charged 4.75 for the tiny bowl of soup and spent 15 bucks for the drink and soup, and still had to find another place to eat dinner! I went to Saveur Le Monde, the middle eastern place on St. Jean, and the food was delicious.

I came here with my boyfriend after scanning all the menus on Grande Allee because it was one of the least expensive restaurants beyond those that were fast food or bar food. My moules/frites were only $ 16.95 which included a soup and a coffee or tea, though it was too hot to sample the latter. The gazpacho was tasty and the portion of mussels was generous, although they could have been served in a better pot so that more of them stayed submerged in the sauce. The fries were hand cut potato that was deep fried — the cutting was a bit willy nilly so they weren’t cooked super consistently, but they were still tasty. The portion was a bit small. We also ordered a half pitcher of the red sangria which went down very easy. It was a solid meal for the price; I’d recommend it.

This is a great Spanish restaurant near the historic district of Quebec City. The gazpacho(cold tomato/cucumber soup) and onion soup were delicious and the main courses were also fresh, cooked to perfection and very tasty! The owner/chef are from Spain, and so, you really get authentic Spanish food. It was also quite reasonably priced: we had 2 full meals, 2 glasses of wine and a shared dessert, all for under $ 80CDN. The setting is cozy and the waitress was attentive. Highly recommended — and I hope to be back there sometime…

A great place for a romantic dinner serving Spanish food and tapas. Refreshing to find something different than the traditional menu in Quebec City(of steak, duck confit, escargot). I recommend the Spanish tortilla(tapa), house paella, and sangria. Very friendly wait staff.
