Great local beach!!! It gets super crowded in the weekends and makes parking a pain. But during the weekdays this place is awesome and the bus stops right near the beach so no need to drive. The lake is great for swimming. No dogs on the beach. Two bathrooms located on each end of the beach. Small concession stand, several bending machines.

What a joke — if your a dog owner don’t come here. They have segregated the beach for geese and their poop whereas dog owners are pushed back into the trees. Only to lay their beach gear among the sticks and rocks. Thanks parks. Love your rules

Lake Water, and man made sandy beach — what more can you ask for? This beach is only 45 mins-1 hour out from East Vancouver so it’s an easier drive than Harrison or Cultus. The parking lot fills up around 10 am so if you really want to be able to park closer to the beach you need to arrive at like 8 am which is kind of annoying, the lot isn’t that big and there’s only one designated parking lot so if it fills up they close the gates and you end up parking along the road leading up to the parking lot and the walk is about 1.8 — 2 km into the beach. There’s a trail on the left hand side that takes you to the main beaches but it’s about 15 minute walk along the lake — plus side it has trees and shade so on a hot day it kind of helps make the walk a little more pleasant. There are two beaches, the first one is smaller and doesn’t have a concession — this one seemed to be filled with more children and families. If you keep walking past the public washroom you will end up at the larger beach where there is concession and two levels(the sandy beach and the gravel area) and there are picnic tables you can set up at if you plan to bbq or want to sit. This larger beach looked like there were less kids and more adults. The water is very warm relative to other lakes(buntzen) and with all the people it warms up as the sun moves right above you. Washrooms are well maintained and there is a drinking fountain right outside the washroom so bring a water bottle so you can stay hydrated.

I go every year and am looking forward to going next week, I like to walk the trails, sit in the shade, get in the water to cool down– very cold but you soon adapt, and it’s nice if there isn’t too many screaming kids around. I take a lunch and spend 3 hours, take something to read and the bus in an enjoyable, short trip on the bus. :)

White Pine Beach is one of the two beaches at Sasamat Lake. I love this beautiful lake. It’s a great place for families and small children because the water is fairly warm and calm. There is a concession stand near the bigger of the two beaches, but many bring their own BBQs. There is also a canoe rental stand. Great place to spend a sunny day. Bonus: I’ve heard there is great hiking along the lake, but every time I go, I can’t seem to get off my beach blanket.

There is a bus that goes straight to White Pine from the Coquitlam Centre bus loop during the summer. This beach is definitely my favorite. There are some kids but I prefer them over the beaches with cigs, and guys who thin they are hot stuff for owning a boom box. It’s a quiet beach with some trails, and picnic tables. The sand is actually nice here. It’s a fairly quiet beach. Too bad it’s so far from everything
