Definitely delicious! I’ve become addicted to the butter chicken here but I agree with some reviews that the medium should be a smidge more spicier. I tried my BF’s hot butter chicken and it was insanely spicy so don’t want that but some heat is good. A place we will continue to go to, I prefer take out than eating in. You get more for what you pay I think!

Pretty tasty stuff, although someone in the kitchen has a heavy hand for black pepper. Some of me samosas had holes in them and others had soaked in some grease like a sponge. But the recipes are good and everything tasted good. Just too much pepper and inconsistent samosas

It’s alright if you have a craving for Idian food, but nothing special. Overly priced for the quality of food served and for the service. We do go back when really desperate.

This was our second time to Aroma and it was disappointing. We called ahead to make a quick reservation and were told it wasn’t necessary — they had space for 2 people. We arrived at about 8:30pm and were seated at a table that didn’t have any silverware or glasses on it. A staff member ran over and threw these items down onto the table hurriedly — the glasses even fell over in front of us. Then, we waited. And waited. For at least 15 minutes. No server came to greet us. I got up and went to ask if someone would take our order. Finally the server came over saying«sorry sorry sorry». He was flustered. The place is clearly understaffed — they only had one server working on a very busy Saturday night. He took our order but didn’t offer any drinks. The food came surprisingly quickly and it was relatively tasty. We had the tandoori wings, half tandoori chicken, prawn vindaloo and some naan and roti. However, server never returned to check in and ask how our meal was. No one ever refilled our water glasses until after we finished our meals. After we finished, it was another wait for someone to clear our dishes. Then, we were interested in dessert but had to wave down the server to order it. Dessert came, before our chai tea arrived. I had the kulfi(ice cream) and it was freezer burnt — I sent it back for a new one which was a bit better. The gulab jamun was pretty good. The chai was also well made. Unfortunately, just as we began eating dessert the full lights of the restaurant were abruptly turned on. It was 9:45pm so perhaps they were preparing to close — the ambience was gone. Then, the busser brought us our bill while we we were still eating dessert. They really wanted to close on time! Before leaving, we mentioned to the server we were disappointed about the lights coming on during dessert. His response was a cold, «we close at 10.» Based on this experience, we would not return to or recommend this restaurant until the service, professionalism, and staffing are greatly improved.

We frequently patronise Aroma Restaurant but I was disappointed with the service that we received last Saturday, Feb 27th2016. The waiter, 5ft elderly bearded guy was very rude, he threw the bill on our table and just walked away. What a nasty attitude he has… The food we ordered was suppose to be medium in terms of spiciness but it was not spicy at all. Extremely bad service from him. Both the restaurant owner and his daughter were out of town and seems like this waiter was at his worst. I will not go there till the owners are back late March 2016.

Cannot say I found anything amazing, nor can I say I found anything disappointing about the food. While we enjoyed the food, we didn’t love it, especially considering the value you receive. The location is close to home which is great, the restaurant have a nice interior and actually pretty big so it’s really good for group parties. The service was pretty bad though, the waiter didn’t even ask us if want anything to drink to start. As we were ordering I felt like he was rushing to get the Menu back and I’m not even done on my orders yet. I end up getting pissed and asked him if it’s ok i I order drinks and desserts as well… since he’s such in a rush when there’s barely any customers in the restaurant, only 3 tables including ours are occupied. And when we’re done with our meals, I asked if we can have our desserts… he came back with our BILL!!! We didn’t bother asking him for it, we just decided to have dessert somewhere else. There’s a Japanese bakery(Cake Yah) close by, so we just bought something there instead. For Appetizer, we ordered ; Paneer Pakora — a homemade cheese battered in a chickpea flour for $ 8. It’s our first time having it so we’re not exactly sure how it would taste like and it wasn’t bad at all. We actually finished the whole plate. For Main, we ordered; Aroma Special Mix Grill $ 20– we can’t decide what meat we want, so we ordered these since it’s a mix of everything. it’s assorted platter of Seekh Kabab, Chicken Tikka, Lamb Tikka, Paneer Tikka, Tandoori Fish and ONE Tandoori Prawn served with Naan & Chutney. The chicken meat are really dry, the lamb however is really juicy! Butter Chicken $ 13– it’s pretty pricey for what it is… very small portion for that price. it’s good but we had better and with a larger portion. if you want something spicy I suggest you significantly raise your number, we asked for Medium but didn’t even tasted any spiciness! For Drinks, we ordered; Masala Chai — would have been nice w/the dessert that we ordered that they didn’t serve to us… but oh well! Mango Lassi — just your regular mango smoothie, nothing special just a bit more run down.

After approximately 14 more takeout orders, I gotta update my review! I’ve come to absolutely adore their butter chicken; the sauce is so balanced and full of complexity, and the chicken is delightfully moist and tender. I love this place!

Great food — we ordered the aloo ghobi, chickpea dall and bhindi okra. All of which are flavourful and not cooked to mush, spicy level was just right as well. Delicious delicious meal and we have definitely found an Indian spot worth coming back again. Service was also good and the place is nicely decorated.

Ordered several dishes and each one was amazingly delicious. Service was good, family style, suburban dining. I was hesitant in ordering their famous butter chicken but glad we did, absolutely delicious.

Perfect perfect indian food. Over many visits had many of their dishes. Butter chicken was great. The shahi panneer(cheese in tomato sauce) is fantastic. The veggie korma is also delicious. Don’t forget the desserts. highly recommend their gulab jamun.

The food is delicious! We usually ask the owner what he would recommend and he does not disappoint. He definitely brings enough food for the table but doesn’t over order for you. We always love everything that we try. Definitely a favourite in the area and love bringing friends and family who haven’t been there to experience how good it is.

My parents often frequent this place, and they rave about how good it is. It’s also close to home which is another bonus I decided that I wanted to go here for my birthday. The atmosphere is nice, has a very classy feel without being pretentious. We ordered the shrimp pakora, butter chicken, lentil dahl, and another chicken dish with curry — I can’t remember the name of it unfortunately. Everything was delicious! I was very satisfied. The server was pleasant and the manager kept schmoozing us. They brought out a piece of chocolate cake with a candle for me. I ate it despite being full from dinner. Not a big fan of chocolate but hey, can’t go wrong with free cake right? I definitely plan on going back here as it’s so close and I really liked the overall experience. A friend of mine recommended the mutter paneer so I will try that next time I stop in.

This is my favorite Indian restaurant to dine at, and easily one of my favorite restaurants overall. Aroma opened in a location that was well known in the Tri-Cities to be a restaurant graveyard, however thanks to consistently good food and fabulous service, they have broken the restaurant curse! I have gone there numerous times, both with small groups and large ones, and the service and food have been outstanding every time. I recently hosted an engagement party there, and they did a great job serving & feeding 30 of us. The back room is perfect for large parties! Great Indian food. There is no dish I can recommend above the rest, but I can honestly say that we have tried a large percentage of the menu and we were happy with everything! I have recommend Aroma to many, and have yet to hear a negative review. Enjoy!

This is the absolute best Indian food I have had this year. Please note: I actively seek out Indian food, so this is a major compliment. Totally authentic, powerful flavours, perfect portions. It seems pricey, but when you take your first bite you’ll be surprised you aren’t paying more. Perfectly plated to shared, order a naan to share. We had the butter chicken and the lamb vindaloo. Like a true authentic Indian restaurant, you can ask for your levels of spice to your liking. We asked for hot, and it was hot! Perfectly hot for us. Mind your levels if you aren’t used to this. We will be back, 100%!

This is our go-to Indian place inside Port Moody. The food is intensely flavourful. Our favourites that we order everytime is the Manchurian appetizer and the Malai Kofta vegetarian dish. Lovely staff and the food is even better the next day when we take our leftovers!

Lovely lunch. The service was excellent, friendly, fast and knowledgeable. We had samosas and chicken wings to start the meal. Our server explained the various options of hot and we decided on Indian hot and that’s what we got. But oh so tasty. For mains we had a lamb and mutton dish, also Indian hot and again it was very tasty. Hot, but you could still taste the various spices. Will have to come again.

Fantastic service. Seam was very very attentive. Introduced himself to everyone who came in through the door. Checked in very often and explained the dishes to us. The food was fantastic! I had the Aroma Special Mix and my friend had the Tandoori chicken. Very flavourful and spicy! I love it. After dinner, the manager asked the magician to come to our table and do a show. It was fantastic. I was baffled. Great service, food and entertainment. The restaurant was quite full on a Saturday night. One advice. Don’t eat the candy after your dinner. The candy ruins the flavours that your dinner has left in your mouth.

It’s nice to have such a delicious Indian restaurant nearby. We tried Aroma for the first time today and were delighted by the great flavours and friendly service. We will likely ask for mild in lieu of medium spicy next time but medium was still easily within our limits. We will definitely be eating here again.

Had dinner here for my husband’s birthday. We didn’t make a reservation but the restaurant is quite large and we were able to get a table right away. We had the vegetable pakoras to start, butter chicken, aloo gobhi, raita, 1 roti, 1 naan and a palao rice. I also had a mango lassi to drink. The vegetable pakoras were excellent. They came with the standard 2 dipping sauces. Not too spicy but very flavourful. The butter chicken was standard. Portion seemed on the small side. We ordered medium heat but I couldn’t taste any spice at all. Next time I will go for the hot. Flavour profile was good. Aloo gobhi had a generous amount of cauliflower and potato and the seasoning was delicious. We ordered mild and couldn’t taste any spice, so I will probably go for medium or hot next time. Naan and roti were good. Naan is quite large. Rice was good, spices were excellent. Raita was very good. It was even more delicious when eaten with the butter chicken. Mango lassi was phenomenal. Overall, a good experience at the restaurant and will definitely go again.

Not horrible. That’s the best I can say, as it certainly is not great. The atmosphere attempted to give the impression of fine dining, but missed the mark. The lighting was uncomfortably bright, the color scheme didn’t have the feel of an east Indian restaurant and the music certainly didn’t fit — which was live. His music was good, but more suited to a lounge. The lack of service did not make us feel welcome. It was rushed and to the point, and the food delivery came off as aggressive even. The chickpea onion rings lacked seasoning. Paneer Vindaloo was surprisingly weak on the flavor(and only one potato). They list their Butter Chicken as world famous — which the dish itself is — but as for Aroma’s? I think not. Much disappointed.

I don’t come to Port Moody to eat often especially Indian food but my girlfriend and I had a meeting to go to near by and we were both craving Indian food, So I searched Unilocal and this place had pretty good reviews, so we said lets try it. It was ok, not awful but just ok. We came for an early dinner. We had vegetable pakoras, nan, madras chicken, fish goa curry and rice. Pakoras were ok nothing special dipping sauce was good. Nan bread was fresh but was a little on the hard side. Madras chicken was ok, big chunks of chicken that looked like carrots a little dry but sauce was good. Fish Goa curry was the best dish we ordered, fish was cut in small pieces and the sauce complemented that fish well. We asked for really spicy/hot but we got mildest. I found the flavors to all the food pretty similar. The service was good, since we were the only table there, I think the owner might have served us. The ambient was nice modern. Overall it was ok.
