Shopping at Reitmans always makes me feel quasi-old lady, especially this location. Blink and you’ll miss it, it’s in a nondescript corner of a Safeway strip mall. After getting stuck in a hail/slush storm on my first day on BC vacation I thought it would be better to weather the storm with a jacket rather then the funny looks I was getting from the locals for being so California. They should just be happy I wasn’t wearing flip-flops because I packed those too! This store’s selection is fine but maybe not as complete as their larger mall locations. I would classify Reitmans clothes as basics/staples. I probably even have a few items in my wardrobe still from way back when. There isn’t a whole lot here to wow anyone but since it was a couple of basics I needed, basics is what I got — a trench coat and a pair of jeans. Price wise, Reitmans is pretty much middle of the road and their quality is okay I wasn’t expecting to spend an extra $ 12 in HST on my $ 110 purchase. Who thought up this bullshit tax anyway? It’s probably no more then PST and GST was but when you combine it together it looks really expensive! This store does shine for their superb customer service. The ladies are friendly and helpful without being pushy for sales. Secondly, their parking is great. If you need to run in and grab something quick, at least you don’t have to worry about fighting for a spot at the mall!
