History
Established in 1993.
July 31st, 1993 — After working for 12 years in the wholesale music business supplying hundreds of stores across Canada, Mike Rintoul founded his own business in Apollo Music. The store started out selling 45rpm singles obtained throughout the years while making the top 100 chart for OneStop Distributors. Their first location was on St. John’s street in a unit barely big enough to fit their inventory. As the business expanded, Apollo relocated to bigger and better spaces and is now currently located in a two-story warehouse full to the brim. In 2010, Mike was joined by Jamie Anstey, vice president of the label Regenerator Records and long-time music industry veteran. The other half of Apollo began selling records to his classmates in high school and then working for several record stores in town before honing his internet marketing skills and refining his interests to provide consistent quality and service at Apollo today.
