A couple of weeks ago I arrived at the clinic with a vision condition… which I knew could be retinal detachment(which requires emergency care by an ophthamologist) AND a bladder infection… AND untreated high blood pressure. The receptionist told me to choose ONE condition to bring up to the doctor. She said it is the clinic’s policy that a patient present with only one condition. I was appalled! I was welcome to return after 24 hours for another ONE. Since I have been on a waiting list for 18 months for a doctor, I did not have a family doctor to see about the other two issues. So, I found a private clinic on the West Island and paid $ 85 to have all 3 conditions looked in to. Lesson learned. Only get sick with ONE issue if you want to be seen at the Brunswick Medical Centre. I do like the appointment policy however. Arrive in the morning, book a time for later on and return in time for a much shorter wait to see a doctor… about ONE condition only!

I wish I could actually review the services, but unfortunately when I went to the walk-in clinic at 4:30pm on a Friday, the receptionist advised me that THEREWERENODOCTORS working that night — and the clinic closes at 9:00pm! She also told me that apparently this happens ALLTHETIME. Although I felt bad for the receptionist, I feel worse for anyone in serious need of a doctor, because this government run clinic apparently does not see the problem with not having doctors scheduled to see patients during the clinic’s operating hours! SHAMEONYOU!

In and out in an hour this morning for a walk-in clinic visit. That’s pretty decent. The Medical Centre is clean, the doctor was friendly and bilingual, and I actually felt like she was listening to what I was saying. Doctor passed up an opportunity at payment for signing a health attestation because she rightly admitted that she didn’t have enough information on me to sign it. That’s integrity. Very satisfied with this experience. Visitied once before on a weekend, all appointments for the day were booked by 9:30am. Wow. The West Island definitely needed a clinic, and Brunswick answered the call. Room for improvement: the receptionist seemed new or not comfortable enough with her job. Needs time to get used to the rush or coaching to juggle all of the proverbial balls that are in the air at the same time.
