GRRREeat second-​hand used book store!
I came here over the weekend looking for a few titles after having consulted the
website. The thing with second hand bookstores, they can either be in a state of complete chaos, where the book title you’re looking for *may* be there but because nothing is organized, you may miss it altogether OR the bookstore can be so meticulously and methodically well-​organized that you end up walking out with some book titles you weren’t even looking for in the first place.
This is what happened to me at Beazley Books located in the quaint and picturesque Pointe-​Claire village. The owner was also very nice and seemed to know quite a bit about the writers I picked up.
Yeah, I know it’s the West Island, but the distance is a lot longer in your head than it really is. I actually timed myself and found that I was there in 30 minutes flat from Lionel Groulx metro on the weekend. It’s definitely worth a visit. While you’re here you can browse the other many cute little shops, and grab some lunch at the local café

Si vous êtes de fervents défendeurs de la langue Française, fin prêts à pourfendre le premier maudit Anglais qui vous passé à portée d’épée, alors passez votre chemin: la libraire Beazley Books n’est pas pour vous. Et ce pour la bonne et simple raison qu’elle né propose que des livres anglophones. Pour tous les autres, anglophones ou francophones sympathisants, venez découvrir un petit bijou comme il en reste peu: une librairie tenue par un authentique libraire, un vrai amoureux des livres qui se fera un plaisir de vous guider entre les rayons, vous faisant découvrir de nouveaux auteurs ou revisiter de grands classiques. Précisons encore que ce monsieur est parfaitement bilingue, que ses livres sont des occasions mais en très bon état et qu’enfin ils sont à des prix très respectables!
