Music Lessons — Guitar, Vocal and Drums. Highly skilled teachers are on hand to teach and help develop talent in the Ajax-​Pickering area. ZONE is now centrally located in Pickering Village. Earl Johnson, the Head Instructor is a highly renowned guitarist in the Rock and Blues fields and a certified instructor with RGT of England. At Zone we go the extra yard to see that our students progress quickly and learn the basics, as well as the necessary theory to understand their instrument.

History

Established in 2010.

ZONE MUSIC was launched in March of 2010 as a Music Lesson Studio and the main location for ZONE Guitars which we sell to our customers. We have been at the same location for the past 4 years and now offer Rock Band Classes as well as bi-​weekly Youth Jams for all your musicians and singers in the area.

We have highly skilled teachers with a very strong pedigree in teaching, performing and recording.

Meet the Manager

Earl J.

Manager

Earl Joined King Biscuit Boy at 18 to tour the U.S. and played shows with Bob Seger, Mitch Ryder and Brownsville Station throughout the Midwest U.S. They also toured Canada several times playing through the Maritimes and western Canada. Earl toured with Biscuit on the East coast tour with Mainline in late 1972 before leaving the band. Rick James of Superfreak fame was the singer for Main Line on that tour.

Joined Leigh Ashford in 1972 which turned into Moxy in 1973 and recorded the first Moxy album in 1974 in Van Nuys, Ca at Sound City studios where Fleetwood Mac recorded Rumours.

Released 4 MOXY albums and toured U.S. extensively with acts such as AC/​DC, Black Sabbath, Santana, Rainbow, Styx etc. AC/​DC opened for Moxy on 3 Texas Shows in 1977 when they first toured the U.S.

Played with the Rita Chiarelli band in 1992 and played with Rita for 2 years at various blues events and festivals in Toronto and area.
