This is our spot. It may not appear to be much but it’s ours. Danny is the owner, he will always greet you with a smile. The waitresses are nice once you knw them. The food is cheap and decent. It’s a hole in the wall, grungy, local hangout. Wednesday and Friday are half price food. Wednesday is also kareoke. This is your typical Cheers — like bar. Tvs everywhere, shitty but clean bathrooms and mediocre food/beer but I choose it again and again. We are more than happy with it and we will continue going once a week to meet up with friends lol.

This is the closest pub to my home so I know it well. Pros: The kitchen is open late and they are decently priced. They could use some better fries but other than that everything I have ordered has been surprisingly good. This is a huge factor for me as I work quite late. The bartenders are friendly and the customer base is mostly local. Plenty of specials on food. The bartender Terry/(Teri?) is fabulous. Cons: Too often there are many off duty staff members clustered around the bar drinking and distracting the on duty staff from customers. Music can also get loud and inappropriate during these times. Although there are many screens to watch a game the sound is terrible and the sight lines are awkward. It seems you always have a post or something obstructing your view. For the convenience, I do go to this place quite a bit. Overall it’s the best combo of location and quality for my needs. If not for the location, I would not likely go as often if at all.

I’m baaaack! And the lemon-butter wings are still my fave wings in the GTA! Cold pints, cute bartenders, sports on tv, friendly regulars who love various sports, and great wings… need more? I didn’t think so. Most of the food appears skippable, but I only come Tuesdays and I only want wings and beer, so it’s all good. Cheers, .James.

I am trying to find out their hours to see if I can watch some tennis at a local pub. Hours are nowhere to be found and I tried calling knowing they weren’t open yet but hoping the answering machine would mention them… but it hasn’t been setup yet??? Likely go somewhere else.

My family and I have gone here at least a dozen times for the half price food on Friday nights. Good value, consistently good service and food. They have even freshened the place up recently with new paint, place looks more inviting! Only complaint would be the slow service, the owner seems like a nice guy, however he often stands at the door and seats people but does nothing else to help out when it gets busy. He assigns tables to the waitresses in turns rather than assigning sections so we watch the poor girls run from end to end… Impossible for them to keep am eye on all their tables spread about the room… so we can’t blame them. Often times we’ve wanted a second drink, but can’t find our waitress. We’ve wanted to approach him about our suggestion but have hesitated… It’s his place after all! Final verdict… Good value, slow service, do not hesitate in brining your kids, nothing to worry about here despite past reviews.

The place was pretty empty, and very run down(don’t look at the ceiling while you are eating). My husband and I went there a decade ago and was unimpressed, and with our fave place closed for reno’s we decided to give it a second chance. We regretted it. I had a craving for some Shepherd’s Pie and a pint of cider. The cider choices were decent, but the Shepherd’s Pie was unsettling. It was dry, and tasted like it was a reheated grocery store frozen not fresh dish, for which I ended up having an allergic reaction. It was WAY overpriced($ 13 for Shepherd’s Pie?) for the small icky portion. It was a nice place to watch the Olympics on the big screen and have a pint, but I won’t be going back for the food. Our waitress was really really awesome.

My wife and I decided to give the Harp and Crown a try on June 19,2012, for their wing night. It is not scary like the reviews we read. It is the atmosphere of a pub. The temperature of the food was hot. The wings are okay, they didn’t have enough flavor. The fries, were crispy but lacked flavor as well. We had to put a lot of peper, vinegar, salt and ketchup on the fries. Our waitress took our order in a timely fasion but the service was very poor. She forgot to bring our veggies and by the time she eventually checked on us, we didn’t bother to remind her. We went early evening, it was not busy. After our meal, we waited for about 20 minutes for her to bring our bill. Instead of returning for us to pay the bill, she was by the bar conversing with either a co-worker or girlfriend. I contiued to look in her direction hoping to get her attention. My wife began to get frustrated, so we got up go over to the bar to pay the bill. As we approached, we got her attention, she met us, then of course we paid the bill. This took maybe an additional 15 minutes. I am the type of person who enjoys giving a gratuity for excellent service. I was not going to give her a gratuity but I figured she isn’t going to learn anything from her poor service, therefore I left her $ 1. If you truly are a wing lover, the Lion & Dragon Pub makes the best wings we’re ever had, they are much bigger, have lots of flavor and different varieties. The staff is very friendly and attentive even when they are very busy.

To the person that wrote that The Harp and Crown” is the scariest place ever. What scared you about the place, the fact that the 4 people in the bar couldn’t be bothered looking up to acknowledge your presence? I’ve been a regular customer at The Harp for almost 10 years. The food is, well, pub food. The wings are my favourite. The service is usually prompt, the staff friendly, and the owner makes everyone feel comfortable. As far as being a long time St. Paddy’s Day pub crawler, I find most of «St Paddy’s Day» pub crawlers only come out on St Paddy’s Day and are not regular bar goers. The Harp usually has great live entertainment from Thursday to Saturday, you won’t find that at most places in the GTA. I have seen many great bands at The Harp and look forward to the weekends to see who is playing. Make sure you say hi to Tari the manger/head bartender. she will make you feel like you are an old friend.

This place has to be the scariest place we’ve ever visited for a drink. This coming from a long time St. Patty’s day pub crawler has got to mean something to you people. I’ve visited the dingiest and the seediest pubs in pub crawls and Harp & Crown takes the cake. We walked in for a relaxing pint after driving aimlessly to familiarize ourselves with the new neighborhood and oh my god!, this place was something out of a horror movie. The windows are completely covered with tinted film so there is virtually no light inside. There were maybe three or four patrons sitting in their respective spots, nursing a beer with their heads down. Talk about off putting. I don’t see how anyone can sit in this place to have a drink let alone eat.

Large pub in a plaza. Staff are very friendly and owner is extremely nice and seems to be present all the time. The food is pub grub and fairly good. They offer half priced food on Fridays and brings in families with kids. Thursday to Saturday nights from 10pm on can attract a rough crowd of sorts. Few months back one guy charged a buddy of his at the table and smacked him into the wall … next thing you knew he was hugging him. Brought me back to the Knob Hill Scarboro youth I remember… lol. Too old for that now though. Overall, a fairly decent place but the odd nasty piece of work keeps me away more often than not.

Great beer selection and very decent food. Bar & floor staff are great. Always enjoy dropping in to see Terry and in the daytime Daniele Live bands playing Thursday, Friday and Saturday
