History

Established in 1981.

Dr. Gail Tanner purchased the Petrolia optometry office in 1981. She has been practicing optometry in Petrolia ever since. Dr. Jessica St. Pierre Street became a partner in 2008.

I consider myself to be very fortunate to be able to practice optometry in my beloved home town of Petrolia, Ontario. I grew up in the Petrolia area, so after graduation from university, my greatest wish was to be able to move back home and work close to my family and friends.

I grew up on a farm in Enniskillen Township, the daughter of Charles and Emily St. Pierre. I attended Lambton Central Centennial Public School and Lambton Central Collegiate Vocational Institute (LCCVI). When I graduated from high school, I was awarded the Helen Kavanagh Nicol Scholarship in 1995.

I earned my Bachelor of Science and Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Waterloo, on the Dean’s Honours List, in 2001.

In the summer of 2002, I began work as an associate optometrist at both Dr. Gail Tanner’s practice in Petrolia and Dr. Steven Acanne’s practice in Wallaceburg. In July 2008 I purchased a 50% share of Dr. Tanner’s practice becoming a partner and business owner.
