History

Established in 97.

In the early 90’s, Peterborough lacked a music store able to provide expertise, sales and support for the rapidly developing digital recording market (and keyboard, digital pianos and synthesizers). Maar’s Music was started to fill this void… and has continued to stay on the cutting edge of music technology ever since.

We are family owned and operated (husband and wife team Markus & Nicole Maar) and work hard to create an environment where people from all walks of life and cultures can feel comfortable and welcome. In addition to operating the store, we are actively involved in our church (not only musically — more often than not you’ll find us working on being the best youth leaders possible).

It’s our goal to treat people with fairness & honesty — our employees and many customers soon start to feel like «part of the family».

Business Owner

Digital recording hardware and software specialist — with experience stretching back to the 1980’s. Jack of all trades instrumentalist (unfortunately, master of none) and closet vocalist. ;)

I still get excited by cool new gear… My blunt business style may take some getting used to (I’m not mellowing much with age yet), but give me a chance and you’ll find out the value of an honest, experienced point of view before your next purchase.

Co-​Youth Leader of my local church and part of the National Music Ministry team. Avid archer, semi-​retired truck puller & martial artist and self styled «food critic».
