Holiday Inn Peterborough-Waterfront

We were in town for a father and son weekend of fun. This hotel is in a very convenient location and its pretty close to anything and everything. Its a nice and clean place, the room was comfortable, the bathroom was a bit small but seriously i didnt plan on spending much time in there. Our room looked out over the tranquility of the trent canal and a park like setting. The pool was pretty awesome, the restaurant was great, the beds were comfortable, the TV was big and the selection of channels was more than enough. We enjoyed the little fridge because we were able to keep our own water in there, and I personally like the Kureg coffee machine in our room. Its all good, and we will be back again some time in the future.

I have spent a lot of time up here this year. The staff has always been friendly and accommodating. In the summers you can eat out at the gazebo right on the river. If you choose to eat outside in the summer be warned there are a ton of mosquitoes. With some bug spray you should be doing just fine. Bernie’s is a good place to get a drink. I have always met friendly patrons in there who will carry a good conversation with you.
There is also a workout room that is okay. There are some treadmills, bikes and a rowing machine. If you are looking to do cardio then you have it made. The weight set is a little old, but you can get the job done when you need to. Did I mention that somebody stole the 25 lb dumb bell?
All in all this hotel is in a great location.

Holiday Inn Hotel Peterborough-​Waterfront is probably the best hotel one would find in this town. First class it’s not, otherwise the elevator would not be built far away from the front lobby. The person checking us in was not particularly friendly nor helpful. A basic room with a city/​street view was around CAD 135; a waterfront view would have cost an additional CAD 50 a day extra. Our room rate didn’t come with a mini-​fridge nor microwave. The free wi-​fi is an older 802.11b 11Mbps. The room was comfortable and roomy featuring the older TV tube technology, remote was finicky sometimes failing to respond to channel change or power signal. A salt water pool makes for a nice dip especially during the hot summer, closed when there’s lightening. Coin laundry available next to the pool entrance, CAD 5.05 for detergent, wash, dry from front desk. Beds were comfortable giving us a restful sleep, there was a slight drainage problem with the bathtub that was promptly taken care of. Hang your Do Not Disturb sign if you don’t want to be awaken by housekeeping in the morning.
