Best fried chicken on the planet… this coming from my husband who has lived in the south!

This place is hit and miss. One time it’s good and the next time it isn’t. Wonder if they have different cooks on different nights? When it’s good it is very good. When it’s bad. Not so much. When you pay good money you expect consistency.

the serving size was BIG. Prices fair, a nice addition for PARIS, ONT. I don’t think i’d ever make the trek to visit Paris again, but enjoyed BROWNDOG and CAMP31. Good brisket! and mac n cheese, yum!

Great ribs and BBQ sauces. Everything I’ve had there taste good — ribs, cornbread, chicken, fries. Love this place.

I love southern bbq. This place was a huge disappointment. Food needs more seasoning. I ordered a pulled pork sandwich and rejected it. I’ve never done that in my life. Don’t go there.

Ok first off we have been going here for years from the K/W area long drive to eat . Yes the meat eaters side is great my family all love the ribs etc, changed the fries do not like as much as the old ones, but when it comes to picky non red meat eaters well you do not get much to chose from. They used to have a good pulled bbq chicken on a bun GONE, then a lovely southern chicken sandwich, GONE, instead a po boy, with 2 chicken fingers(looked like from a bag) on a very crunchy fall apart roll, what a mess so disappointed we look forward to coming here a couple of times a year well how upset was i to have this thing, could have had that at The Lanc 5 mins away from my house. i know this a bbq joint but still i used to have a few choices that i kinda enjoyed. Service is usually good the waitress was crappy today, but usually pretty good, and new uncomfortable chairs with no arm rest, still sticky tables and a huge black ant made an appearance on the table yikes. this is not an outdoor picnic. Bring back the old fries and the southern chicken sandwich, please.

So… I missed Ribfest this year because of the weather and the jam packed parking lot at centennial park. Never fear… back up is here!!! Instead of going to the fest i just went and found the best! They were runner up just last week for the best ribs at the Toronto Ribfest and they won a few different awards in the past. So, as a good excuse to visit this really pretty river side town only about ½ hour outside of Hamilton we set off on a beautiful sunny Sunday! The restaurant was only occupied by 2 other tables at 11:55am when we arrived. Lucky us :) We grabbed patio seats and settle in to pour over their menu. We ended up with pulled pork, beef brisket and fried chicken with mac n cheese, baked beans, a caesar salad and corn bread. The best part of that whole entire meal was 3 parts: Corn Bread: Enjoyed the bits of corn in the better, crispy on the outside but moist and slightly sweet on the inside. It was so good I didn’t feel the need to butter it. Fried Chicken: WOWZA i didn’t even look in the direction of the pulled pork or brisket as I devoured my piece. Camp 31 Rajun Cajun Bbq Sauce: Just try it. tiny amount of kick but huge amount of flavor. The rest of it was good but those 3 really stood out. Now you’re probably wondering… ahem where are the ribs??? I ended up picking up 3 racks for my family dinner that night with all the other meats and fixins… Lets just say I was very appreciated that night! We tried the baby back and side ribs and both were fall off the bone but the meat was still sturdy. The sauce on it was literally finger licking good! The service and atmosphere were great and the staff was very accommodating with me picking up my take out order later in the afternoon. I know where to go next time I get a rib craving ;)

The ribs were very tasty. Loved the Ragin Cajun BBQ sauce. Sitting out on the deck enjoying the Blond microbrew sealed off the dinner. Great place to stop by.

GREAT wait staff — cheerful, friendly, quick to help and serve. As for the food… WOW. Ribs are at LEAST as good as the ones they turn out at all the Rib Fests! Tender, juicy, well sauced. Need more sauce? no problem slather on one of the other four at the table. Cornbread was good, onions straws yummy. There sandwiches, equally tasty. LOVE the actual restaurant. It’s a great BBQ joint.

I was a bit disappointed after all the rave reviews. The good… staff was friendly and service was prompt. The atmosphere is Roadhouse so you know what to expect, not fine dining. That said, it was no excuse for dirty tables and filthy, messy washrooms. On to the food… with barbeque being their specialty, we went with their signature ribs with house dressing. I went with the St. Louis Style Ribs which were dry and overcooked. My wife had the baby back ribs which were more tender. The house sauce seemed OK, but it was hard to get a real taste of it over the burnt ribs.

Came on a Sunday at 1pm and it wasn’t too busy. Ordered the backside special with Mac and cheese side along with the beans. Deep fried pickles for starter with a nice spicy dip. They are potato slice like pieces of pickle instead of the wedges I’ve usually seen. Pretty tasty for deep fried pickles and I don’t usually like them! Ribs were a generous portion with a nice smokey beans and a cheesy Mac and cheese. Ribs were tender and moist. Definitely coming back!

Good Southern Style Bar-B-Q! Lots of awards and recognition from all over, so the recipes are tried tested and true! Good sized portions and friendly staff! Some AYCE special nights make for a great deal.

Delicate and saucy ribs, soft cornbread, crispy and tender fried chicken. There was no highlight of the meal at Camp 31, since it was all high quality, well-prepared and delicious.

One good reason to visit Paris, Ontario! Fabulous BBQ ribs, nice and effective service, nice place… and fabulous ribs(again!) with the meat falling off the bones(as good as in ribfests, where Camp 31 usually has a booth).

If you been to enough ribfests in Ontario, you probably see Camp 31 Bar-B-Q as one of the vendors. I never been to the restaurant itself in Paris, ON, but the ribs I tried during one of my ribfest encounter seems to be A-OK. Not too fatty but tender enough, but it does need to have a little more BBQ sauce. I probably will not make a special trip down to eat at the restaurant but definitely will give it another try if I am at a ribfest! Btw, Camp 31 Bar-B-Q usually has one of the longest lines! The smokiness, open flame and the smell of meat really attracts the crowd!

Was in town for business and saw the good reviews on Unilocal,so we gave the place a shot. We all got ribs. They have Baby Back(ribs on the top of the pig; smaller but more tender) and St Louis Style Ribs(side ribs; larger but a bit more fat). Both styles were very good, and the sauces(5 house styles) and sides were great. I’m giving 4 stars because, while the ribs were good, I’ve had better in Wisconsin and Chicago. The service was good but the food is slow cookin’, so expect a relaxed pace meal. I’d definitely revisit again to try other meals on the menu.

I discovered Camp 31 at the ribfest in Pickering this summer, I randomly picked out two of the vender’s there which i thought looked like the had good ribs and Camp 31 was on of them. The ribs were good, and the sauce was delicious! They were defiantly better then the other rack of ribs picked out from another booth so I decided to take a trip to Paris to have them again. The restaurant was packed! People were lined up outside waiting to get a table, I took this as a good sign. At ribfest they serve side ribs so I wanted to try their baby backs. We ordered garlic bread for the table which was fantastic! Each rack of ribs comes with baked beans or you can switch them for another side, you can have two sides so I chose baked potato and coleslaw. The potato was huge and loaded with all the toppings! The ribs had lots of sauce and was okay, I was kind of disappointed. They didn’t seem as good as they were as ribfest, as I remembered them to be. Overall, the food was just average, if I’m in the area I would come back but I don’t think I will be making any special trip to come back anytime soon.
