Our dinner there on Feb 7th was the 3rd time I have eaten at 10 Sushi. We came here after not being served at another resto for an hour and 15. The sashimi/nigiri/maki are good and the cooked food tasty, not bland like in other buffet type resto I’ve tried here in Ottawa. The staff were friendly, the iPad for ordering food was easy, but sometimes difficult to tell if you order 1 of something whether it is 1 set of 4 or 6 pieces or 1 piece. 4 orders of tempura eggplant was not 4 pieces but 16 pieces. My bad! They need to clean the iPad more often! The only complaint is that the floor was very slippery, like someone had mopped the floor with oil. The mop was in plain sight at the middle of the restaurant. Sigh… Other than that, I would still come back.

This is a pretty decent place all around. I came here for dinner a while ago with a medium-sized group and had the all-you-can-eat menu for dinner. It runs about 25 bucks per person, so keep that in mind in terms of how much one wants to eat and how much one wants to spend. Also, like many all you can eat menus, if you leave significant amounts of food left over, you have to pay an a la carte price for the leftovers, so order as you go rather than making a monster order and forcing yourself to overeat and suffer later on. We had a few small plates delivered to us which we had not ordered, so we had to locate a person and send it back lest we had to pay for it later on. The décor is nice enough and the seating was pretty comfortable. The bathrooms were decorated well, but were NOT clean– in fact, they were in a deplorable, unsanitary state when I went in and I had to go stall to stall to find something even remotely suitable. They need to be more vigilant about maintaining their restrooms when there are so many people coming in and out. It’s a large establishment and was fairly crowded when we arrived, but it didn’t cause any slow down of our food coming in. I liked the ability to order everything wirelessly through tablets, which bypassed the annoyance of trying to get servers attention, especially in such a large place. I mostly ate sushi rolls, miso soup, and a few tempura items such as the scallops and shrimp. All was delicious. I sampled someone else’s tofu stir fry and didn’t like their tofu texture at all. It definitely could have been better. I finished off with some of their ice cream, which was ok, but not particularly striking as I’ve had green tea and red bean flavored desserts before which I found more flavorful. My friends ate a lot more of the Chinese fried fare, which they declared to be good, though most of them suffered from horrible heartburn the next day. Be wary in any place when you overeat– if it’s fried or oily, you may pay for it in the evening! The service was friendly and prompt. Payment is in cash, but they have an in-house ATM to help you with that issue as well. So, if you can manage to control yourself and not destroy your intestinal system when you go there, I do recommend this place if you want something with a very large variety of foods(the menu is extremely extensive) or feel like having small samples of a variety of Asian-style cuisines.

Great sushi. Buffet is well worth it. U order using iPads so your food comes out fresh. Nice staff. Worth the effort.

Have no idea why this place has suck good reviews. Service was terrible. Was rushed out. Simply asking for a water was a joke as well had to almost grab one of the waitresses while they were running past to get there attention. Rolls were sub par. Go to 168 or hakkido both are much better choices. Literally had to hide numerous pieces of sushi that were inedible so that they didn’t try to charge us.

Terrible customer service. We went for my birthday and the manager was incredibly rude and told my niece that since all she wanted was french fries and not eating the all you can eat, she had to sit at another table, Seriously! A CHILD. ATANOTHERTABLE. The servers are rude and the food is okay but there are many other places in Ottawa that are way more accommodating that have the same quality of food or better.

Great food; great service(fast despite how busy it was); and great price! Service was great — we took our time getting our first order sent in on the iPad and had someone come over to make sure we didn’t have issues with the iPad ordering system. I also LOVE the iPad ordering the system so you can see a picture of what things look like. Parking lot was good and they were accommodating of the baby and all of our gear.

I was on my way to drive my sister to the airport and we were both craving for some sushi. We checked out online to see what was nearby on the way to the airport and found Ten Sushi on Unilocal. As we walked in it the service was super quick we were sat at our table got our drink orders and was taught how to use the iPad for ordering. They have a variety of dishes from sushi to Korean, dim sum, and Chinese dishes. We ordered some Sashimi, sushi rolls and teriyaki dishes. Overall the food tasted pretty good however the low rating is due to the sashimi being not very fresh. Other than that would definetly come back if in the area.

I’ve found my new favourite place for fresh, all-you-can-eat sushi in the Ottawa area, which is almost an oxymoron(particularly if you’ve eaten it in any other large US or Canadian city!). Décor is very upscale, dark wood, upholstery, floor and tables everywhere, with spotlights beaming down and a good selection of booths to have a nice cozy chat. Walls are lime green, orange and black with red accent pieces and a large three-dimensional T E N mounted on the ceiling. Served quickly during the lunch rush on both my visits, we got a table within five minutes. The server brings you a mini-iPad to place your order; you simply scroll through all the sections, appetizers, Maki, sushi, rolls, tempura and then select how many of each you want, hit ‘place my order’ and that’s it, it’s sent off to the kitchen. Kitchen service is very prompt, within minutes I had my edamame and tea and then the first lot of the rolls came out. I had no problem with the network speed in placing the order. I like this place as the ratio of rice-to-fish(or filling) is about right in my view. So many of the sushi buffet places in town rely on more rice than fish but not this place. There is a very thin layer of sticky-sweet rice encompassing the delicate raw fish and that allows the flavour of the protein to shine through. And the temperature is not fridge-cold either, being just cool enough to keep the fish fresh but not so cold as the mask the palette. Other buffets serve the sushi almost ice-cold and that masks the inferior quality of the food. They have a good selection of Maki(hand rolls) here, with probably over twenty to choose from. The California rolls, not always my favourite as they are so overdone, are really quite good. Another one to try is the Dragon roll, good fresh, big slices of avocado and a slightly sweet mango splash dressing the exterior with good fresh salmon hidden inside. Tempura is nice and light, and no greasiness from the frying procedure, which is obviously good. I’m not sure if it is indicative in general of sushi buffets but the first time I came we didn’t get everything we ordered and also got things we didn’t order. Not a big problem as you just re-order it anyway. My second time we got everything we ordered and nothing extra. You don’t get sashimi at lunch but you do have a choice to order the dinner buffet and then you get it all. There is enough choice on the lunch menu though. Service was very prompt and attentive, tea kept coming at regular intervals and the servers were polite and friendly. They do not take debit but take credit; there is an ATM there with it’s commensurate $ 3.00 charge per transaction so plan accordingly. Lunch for two was $ 38 with a 20% tip. Very worth it.

Wow. Just wow. The last time I was here about a month ago, we week on a weekday for lunch. And that was an amazing experience… I went today again, this time on a weekend, for the lunch ayce. What a huge mistake. The service was terrible! We had to wait about 15 mins for a seat, then once we got seated, it took another 10 minutes or so after we ordered to start getting food. The biggest disappointment was the miso soup — which had absolutely nothing in it! It was pure soup… And the fried milk — wow, they give me 2 tiny balls of it. One of it didn’t even have milk inside it! Such a disappointment. The waiter was also giving us attitude when we asked where the food was, since they did forget some things. Finally when paying, they don’t take prepaid visa. What a terrible experience — no tip and probably won’t be coming back, especially on a weekend!

I am updating my review because I went back here again with coworkers for lunch and it was a completely different experience than last time. The food was still good but our food took forever to come out so sometimes we ordered a second one convinced we hadn’t ordered it and in the end they brought food like 45 minutes after we had ordered it. They have also changed it so the all you can eat no longer includes sodas, it only included water or tea to drink. It took them forever to clear off our table and we waited 20 minutes for the ice cream we ordered before finally just getting up and leaving because we couldn’t wait any longer. I don’t know if last time was just a good day or today was a bad day. The food was still good but the service was horrible this time around.

I’m happy there’s finally an AYCE sushi in this area, the closest ones are both 168 sushi(Merivale and St-Laurent) and they aren’t that great so… Ten Sushi is in a great location, albeit the parking lot is definitely too small. The service is good, I’ve been here twice and even with a group of 8 – 10, we didn’t have to wait more than 10 minutes to be seated on a Saturday night around 7pm. The waiter was often close by to take plates away and refill water glasses. I’m not a fan of the new trend with iPad ordering, it seems items get lost in the orders. When we tried to order 30 pieces of salmon sashimi, we only received 20 pieces, twice. Maybe they have a maximum per order? It wasn’t clear. The food was great though, no complains here. The chicken balls ACTUALLY taste like real chicken, unlike all the other places where it feels like you’re just eating fat and fried batter. All the sushi I had was delicious, the orders came in at a decent rate. They also have dim sum and even oysters of a decent size! I would return because it was good service, the food was good and the price is decent. The location is also best for me since I live in the area. I would have given a higher star rating if it wasn’t for the iPad and misplaced/lost orders.

Pro tip: If you’re hungry at lunch, opt for the dinner buffet instead which allows you to get their fresh and nicely thick sashimi. The place is great for all you can eat and even better than many a la carte sushi places. Price is not bad at around 33 dollars a person after tip and tax for dinner. They hand out iPad minis to order on and while the system can be a bit slow the food came at a reasonable speed.

Went there with my family of 4. The food was great for the price, service was pretty good and quick. The only downside is, the food does not feel fresh. However, i would highly recommend it.

Overall sushis are good and handrolls have a good amount of fish. Some of the cooked dishes are poorly made but it is expected from such a wide menu. The tempura is decent and the orders are made from an ipad which is convenient. The waiters only messed up our order once.

We have now been going here for over 10 months! It is one of our favorite places. We do rotate just for a small change. But we always come back. Our 10 dinner card is almost full! yay!!! Hahaha! Sadly you can only redeem one per visit. But it’s ok we will be back anyway. The majority of the staff is very nice. We only had one incident where we tried to pay with a USA Visa card(which happens to also be a debit). However anyone who travels back and forth knows USA debit doesn’t work in Canada. But they wouldn’t take my USA visa. So we just paid with a Canadian card. It bothered me that she wouldn’t swipe it and see it’s just a regular credit card. But she just kept insisting NODEBIT and pointing to the sign on the wall. So we let it go. We just know not to use our USA cards here lol Still 5 stars. Their food is great and sushi always fresh!

Really fast service, love the ipad ordering system. Food wise, probably the best AYCE sushi in Ottawa.

I can honestly say Ten Sushi Buffet is one of the best Japanese AYCE spots in Ottawa. The price is a bit steep, but the quality is worth the paying for. There are a lot of options to choose from ranging from Japanese to Thai to Korean choices. The sushi is very good in terms of freshness and quality. I would definitely recommend ordering the Maki Rolls and the Sashimi. The service was very good as the waiters were very attentive to every request myself and my friends had during the dinner. The food was delivered to our table within minutes of completing the order. Overall, Ten Sushi Buffet is a good place for AYCE as you receive good food and quality service for the price you pay.

What can i say about ten sushi? I have to admit, it is the most decent sushi buffet in town. Food is good, ipad is convenient and fast, service is good. I just really dont like the older lady at the cash! She is a B*tch.

For an All You Can Eat, Sushi Ten is a solid four stars. This restaurant follows the trend of iPad ordering. The menu is fairly straightforward and there were problems with missing orders. Service was fast and surprisingly quick. There are always waiters walking by who you can flag down. They are also very quick to pick up empty plates. Food wise, the sashimi was pretty fresh tasting. There were no semi frozen fish served here. The miso soup wasn’t too salty like at some other places. The sweet and sour soup is too sweet. The edamame beans were nice and firm and not mushy. The maki rolls were pretty tasty too. Of all the rolls, the Futomaki roll wasn’t great. The grilled and fried appetizers came out piping hot — the enoki beef rolls and bacon-wrapped asparagus. The restaurant is clean, including the bathrooms. All in all, a welcome addition to the Ottawa AYCE seen.

UPDATE: FEB, 2016 There is, unfortunately, a general trend with AYCE sushi places where they can start out well and then the service and quality starts to slip. Sometimes they can recover, sometimes not. After a visit last week to Ten(probably my fifth visit in total), I was seriously unimpressed where things were at. Service was seriously questionable with the server actually arguing with us over a particular issue and throughout the evening we were brought food we didn’t order. Service, however, is never a strong suit in AYCE sushi places to begin with so I can cut them a little slack there. Where I can’t cut them any slack is in the quality of the sushi and food items going downhill. To be blunt, nearly everything we had was particularly bad(sushi and sashimi did not taste fresh and most of the other dishes were bland) even though it was a packed Friday night. All in all, our party of four were seriously disappointed. Enough to say that I don’t know if I would go back as I wouldn’t want to run the risk of getting such a bad experience again. This is disappointing as there really aren’t that many good AYCE sushi places in Ottawa. Rating changed from 4 to 2 stars. — — — — All you can eat sushi places in Ottawa always seem a bit of a compromise. They are(hopefully) at least one step up from grocery store sushi(sorry grocery store sushi fans!) but never quite the level you would get at a good Japanese/sushi restaurant. But at the same time, they are often a fraction of what it would cost to eat at a good sushi restaurant so, at least for me, I’m willing to put up with a bit less quality in order to get my sushi fix. Thankfully, I don’t seem to have to compromise much by eating at Ten Sushi. FOOD — GREAT I’m a bit of a sashimi fan. It’s the primary item I order and Ten Sushi didn’t disappoint. They had all the staples plus some squid(no red tuna though) and the pieces were fresh and large. For the sushi, we found the sizes decent, without an abundance of rice(sushi with a lot of rice is a turn off for me), and everything tasted fresh and juicy. As such, the sashimi and sushi was a general hit though of course some items may suit some people more than others. For the non-sushi items, it was pretty much par for the course. Tempura was ‘okay’ being about as good as any AYCE place but not as good as a dedicated Japanese restaurant. The same goes for the other dishes we tried(sesame chicken, spare ribs, dumplings…). All in all, the food was at least as good or a bit better as any other AYCE sushi place I’ve tried(and I’ve tried a lot) so I’m happy in this regard. ORDERING — COULDUSEIMPROVEMENT As seems to be the standard for AYCE sushi places, Ten Sushi also uses tablets for ordering. These seem to be a hit or miss affair for me and this time it was a bit of a miss. The software was slow and very buggy and when we were finally ready to order, the system just hanged and we had to wait for a server to fix it. SERVICE — GOODANDQUICK Once our order went through though, food items started appearing very quickly. So quickly that it was apparent it wasn’t made to order as the items must have already been prepared. This of course makes sense. As we moved away from the standard fair to some of the specialty rolls, service time took a little longer but it could also have just been busier at that time. All in all though service was good OTHER — SEATING On a Friday night, when we arrived around 6:30, there was a large amount of people waiting to be seated but the restaurant is actually larger than it looks. While we were told it would be about 20 – 30 minutes to be seated, we ended up only having to wait about 5 – 10 minutes. I have no idea if they take reservations. – In conclusion, I have to say I liked my meal and I would definitely go back. I hope that they keep the same level of quality with the food as this is something that seems to suffer at a lot of other AYCE sushi places(good at the start and then within a year it nosedives to the point that you never go back) but only time will tell. Anyways, Ten Sushi is now part of my top two AYCE sushi places in Ottawa.
