We’re Ottawa’s swing dancing experts.
Specializing in the dances of the swing era, from the 20’s Charleston, to the Lindy Hop of the 30’s and 40’s, we do everything from the dances know, like Jitterbug, to the dances you probably haven’t heard of, like Balboa and Shag. At Ottawa’s only dedicated swing dance school, you can learn how much fun social dancing can be, from Canadian and American swing champions.
If you want to learn a wedding dance but feel that a Waltz would be too formal, we’ll set you up with a fun first dance that won’t bore your guests, and that you’ll even have fun learning!
We also have a large dance troupe specializing in these swing era dance styles, and we’ve performed with the NAC Orchestra live on stage, at Canadian Casinos, and for many other important clients. We also offer smaller performances for private parties.
Meet the Business Owner
Byron A.
Business Owner
Byron won his first swing contest in 2001, and within a year he co-founded one of Canada’s most successful swing schools in Montréal. In 2003 he devoted himself full-time to the dance studio, winning awards at national competitions in Canada and the US for several years.
In 2006, looking for a new challenge, Byron moved to Ottawa and teamed up with local dancers to start Ottawa’s first full-time dance studio dedicated to swing dancing: Swing Dynamite. Byron’s proud to have watched many of his students in Ottawa go on to win national swing competition titles and perform for thousands of spectators, but his greatest inspiration is watching two people share music and moments together.
