Home alone + Tired — Any Food in the Fridge Persistent jet lag = Thai delivery? My go-to Thai place does not deliver for lunch so, using JustEat, I ordered at Red Chili, opting for: A Crispy Calamari(Appetizers) CAD7.95 The Chicken Gaeng Sapparod(Chicken Pineapple Curry) CAD12.95 and Steamed Fragrant Thai Rice(Side Orders) CAD1.75 My order was under $ 25 so not eligible for delivery so I added the Pork Spring Rolls(2 Rolls)(Appetizers) CAD4.15 I ordered at 14:35 and the delivery arrived at 15:05 so under the projected 45mins. I started with the spring rolls. I found them to be quite good. Crunchy and warm. But it’s official– I vastly prefer the vietnamese variety over chinese and thai spring rolls. I usually am skeptical about ordering calamari for delivery but I wanted to take a risk. In this case it did NOT pay off. They should drop the crispy from the name and call it chewy instead-THey were cut so big(see pics) they could not be crispy The curry and rice were the final nail in the coffin. Rice is hard to mess up but the curry was terrible. Very watery(as observed by other Unilocalers), not flavourful and yet over-spicy. I will not be finishing this dish and I am very disappointed because this was the priciest item and the least appetizing. NEVERAGAIN. I RECOMMEND: Champa Thai is much better and at worth the wait. EXTRATIP: if you pay by credit card they do not ask for a signature. I’m pretty sure this is not acceptable practice so I was unhappy about that and it cost them their tip since I couldn’t write it in. I’ll have to monitor my CC to make sure they did not change the final price.

Seeing as I’m home alone for Thanksgiving and missing my family, I needed something delicious for my dinner to at least distract me from missing my Ma’s turkey. Thai being my favorite food, I decided to try Red Chili Garden. I ordered red thai curry, pad si ew and a steamed rice for delivery. In total it came to $ 28, not too bad. I was pleasantly surprised to hear a knock on my door a mere 20 minutes after I ordered. Off to a good start! Sadly that is where the good ended. I have an enormous amount of leftovers now because the food sucks. The pad si ew is pure salt. I’m pretty sure all it is is noodles, veggies and soya sauce. The pad si ew I’m used to has a salty, sweet, but delicious sauce. It’s usually one of my favorite dishes. Not here sadly. The red curry is so watery it created a puddle on my plate and I slopped it everywhere trying to carry it to the table. Although the flavor is good, it is more like a soup. Oh Red Chili Garden, how I wanted to like your food. But I did not, and now I am sad.
