I love this building. I lived there for a year. I temporarily moved out with parents to save a bit but I am planning on retuning in the summer/fall. The ladies in the admin office are fabulous! They are kind genuine and so helpful. If you ever need something like for example I wanted my shower starter(that plug you pull to have shower come on) replaced because it was very hard to pull, and they sent someone within 5MIN! They are the best. Next comes the units. I had a large one bedroom unit. Loved it!!! Gets. Lil cold in winter but get a space heater and your fine. In summer you have a spot to put your ac. The best part tho is its so quiet in units. They are made really well. Almost sound proof. Not once did I have a complaint about noise above me or beside me. Yes you can hear people in hallway but at least your not disturbed in your unit. Another amazing perk?! They have the laundry on the top floor and it never closes. Love that. I never had an issue waiting for a machine or anything. The pool is great too!!! I read other comments where people say there are bugs like cockroaches. I’m telling. You that’s a lie. I would NEVER live somewhere with that. If I can say one negative? Well there are pigeons that like to hang on your balcony. Scares the poop out of me once while having a smoke… put a fake owl and a net and your fine. You can’t really be surprised from the birds tho when the beach is next to you. If your interested I would defiantly move there. I am for sure! Happy hunting and hope this helps. #yelp

I used to live here a long, long time ago, and I don’t quite think there haven’t been any significant changes since. The apartments are small, but affordable, and there’s also a pool in the building. Since it’s very close to campus, many Carleton students rent apartments here because of both the location and the value. Walking and biking are more popular modes of transportation, rather than the bus, which doesn’t run as often as residents would like. This might pose a problem, however, since the area isn’t the safest.

It seems that everyone in Ottawa has either lived in this complex or knows someone who at some point has lived here. The POW consists of a few towers and is very handy for any Carleton students as it’s a short walk up the canal. The apartments are also central for anyone working in Nepean or the south end of the city. However, getting to downtown from this location isn’t all that easy for students or those without a vehicle since OC Transpo only has one direct bus from this area to downtown and it doesn’t run that late, especially on weekends. Algonquin students can also get to their campus on one bus. There are decent services around the property too(Shoppers across the street, Tim Horton’s, small grocery store, McDonald’s etc.). The management are usually pretty quick to address any problems you have or make repairs. The interior of the buildings are much nicer than the exterior but they have made some exterior changes over the last couple of years. 1435POW has a pool, hot tub and sauna on the top floor with a pretty wild view of Ottawa. I avoided the hot tub and sauna but the pool wasn’t too shabby. If you have a vehicle or go to Carleton it’s not a bad complex to live in but crime in this area of town, and even at this intersection, can sometimes be a problem.
