Popeye is terrible. Terrible service I used to go all the time for lunch and dinner During work. And I stopped going because the workers seem too preoccupied with chatting with family or friends. I waiting over 15 minutes for somebody to take my order. Then the person had the nerve to be rude to me. Never again will I go there! Zero stars is what I would give But I have to give a star or it won’t allow me to post this review.

I LOVECHICKEN. Always on the lookout for good fried chicken — or in this case, broasted chicken. Been to Popeye a while ago for a shawarma while on a lunch break. When I saw they had chicken on the menu, I knew I had to return. Happened to be in that end of town today around supper time, so I thought I should bring home some bird for the family dinner. Knew before hand that he only does broasted chicken to order, so it would be a 10 to 15 minute wait. I don’t mind waiting for food, more so if it’s GOOD food. I can’t express this properly without either emoticons, or a video of my facial expressions when eating this chicken. IT IS FREAKING DELICIOUS Perfectly cooked, full of flavour, tender, juicy, not greasy, not too salty. Wedge fries included were big, perfectly cooked, and seasoned just right. Garlic sauce included with the meal was amazing. BEST I’VE EVER HAD There are a few things that keep me from giving Popeye the fifth star: — floors in the high traffic area were sticky. End of the day maybe before the day-end cleaning? — tables were sticky. Not dirty, but perhaps wax/cleaner buildup over time. — deep fryer used to cook the chicken before going into the broaster clearly is used for fish as well. I got a hint of fish taste in one of the chicken pieces. not a huge deal, but could be a big deal if someone has fish allergies, like my daughter. — finally, bathrooms(didn’t check the woman’s!) need attention. The men’s was clean, but the light above the sink was burnt out, and the soap dispenser needed fixing. In a restaurant, the details of the restroom should be a top priority. After all, if the floors and tables are sticky, and the bathroom needs attention, what else could be going on in the food prep area? Despite all these shortcomings, Popeye will be the FIRST place I go to the next time I need a chicken fix.
