Great food and staff! Been there several times and would go again. Better than other average typical places like subway…

Fresh has never tasted so good. Free pita chips to boot. I used to eat pita pit all the time post bar downtown. I can now enjoy it anytime in the East end. Fantastic pitas where you can taste the freshness with every bite.

When I was in university, back in the 90s, I would have fun in the Byward Market and head to the Pita Pit afterwards and get a delicious turkey pita before heading home(I’m saying one but sometimes it was two). I don’t know how many times I went there(probably because I wasn’t that sober) but I’d guess that it might be over twenty-five times. It would be double if you include the Elgin and Bank locations. When I had moved to Orleans and started having kids, I loved the food here so much that I tried to mimic the turkey by cooking it on my frying pan. But I can’t beat them: they load it with so much fresh stuff that I couldn’t compete. Now, a new sparkly Pita Pit has opened on Innes Road, right near the cinema, Lowes, Athletic Club, and Food Basics. But it seems Pita Pit has improved over the years since my «drunken stupor» days in the Byward Market. The menu is a bit bigger. They offer these fantastic pita chips for free to eat while you wait. They offer cookies too. But most impressively, they offer more than just salt and pepper to dash on your pita: garlic powder(salty) and chipotle(spicy) and half a dozen other spices that are actually really nice additions to your piles of veggies. Damn, I’m happy they’ve arrived five minutes from my house! So now, rather than getting tipsy before Pita Pit, I’ll see a movie. Did I point out that they’re right next to a yet-to-open ice cream shop?
