Pirate Adventures Ottawa is an interactive pirate-​theatre cruise, set in a real pirate ship on Mooney’s Bay. Costumes, Face paint, treasure maps, sword fights, water cannons, and sunken treasure await!

We do birthday parties, family outings, team building, field trips, corporate family days, and catering.

History

Established in 2007.

Pirate Adventures is the result of an afternoon of play between grandfather and grandson. While playing «pirates» in the back yard, and along the Rideau River, the idea emerged as something like this: «Kids really love pirates. Why not build a pirate ship and take kids out for a real adventure?» Approximately 2 years later the Grey Ghost was searching for treasure in Mooney’s Bay!

After spending 21 years in the Canadian Navy I knew that I wanted to operate my own business. I knew that I wanted to stay close to the water, and that I wanted something with a little more silliness and joy than my last few bureaucratic years in Ottawa… I happened to stumble across the path of the creators of Pirate Adventures, and they were looking to head out West. After seeing the pirates in action, and spending some time at sea in the Grey Ghost, I knew that I had found the right fit. Having served in regions with real modern-​day pirate threats, I certainly appreciated the irony of my new roll. I have loved every day since (well, perhaps not the day we sailed late, broke the cannons, and lost the treasure…).
