New Shawarma King

It doesn’t look like much, but OMG the best Shawarma I have ever tasted! Definitely worth checking out!

Ordered food an hour and 20 minutes ago, called 20 minutes ago and they said it would be another 10 – 15 minutes I don’t even care wtr it tastes like I’m hangry don’t fuck with me

Got the food took 2 hours the delivery man gave a fuss about no tip when we told him it was 2 hours so sorry no tip he said sorry he had to shower
The food was saggy and disgusting the falafel was so dry I couldn’t even eat it, and I only ordered from this place because the one next door didn’t offer any falafel!

Wow! Delicious shawarma! Certainly among the best in Ottawa, that’s for sure. The chicken was juicy and the veggies were fresh. The garlic sauce was so powerful that it burned — it was awesome! A chicken sandwich, garlic potatoes, and can of pop will cost about $ 11.

Ordered online, never came… l called the place and they were really rude, terrible customer service, will never attempt to order from here again!

Terrible terrible service. I called for delivery to my hotel room, waited on hold for a long time because he didn’t want to accept the hotel’s phone number but finally made my order. Then I waited another 45 minutes… no food. I called back, «delivery should be there» «delivery will be there in 5 minutes, uh, I mean they left 5 minutes ago». Half hour later they arrived. I ordered a simple chicken pita platter and wings, nothing modified. Hotel distance to restaurant 7 minutes according to google.
When I ordered, I was asked specifically over the phone my method of payment. When the food finally arrived the visa machine didn’t work and we were forced to pay cash. Delivery man offered no apology for the lateness and refused to take responsibility.
Absolutely terrible customer service.

I’m hesitant to give this place any higher, as I’m half certain my SO got food poisoning from here. The falafel seemed dry and the garlic sauce is weak. I would give it one star, but it’s not the worst place and no one else I know has experiences sickness from this place, so could have been a one-​off kind of deal.
All around I wouldn’t recommend it, but its a convenient location if you’re hungry.

This was the first place we ate at the first time we visited Ottawa several years ago and we make it a point to return here or the Bank St. location everytime we’re in town. Simply amazing… best garlic sauce ever!

I have the worst luck with bad service, I seriously do. Shawarma King is the worst of the worst in my opinion. The service here is appalling. Appalllinnggggg. The food is also not great.
The other night I planned on going to Shawarma Palace to get a felafel wrap only to find out it was closed. I found out this place was open, i had some bad service (and food) there before but the craving for garlicky deliciousness outweighed my fear of cranky people.
Sure enough. The people working there were complete d*cks. A guy that was ahead of me asked if he could get the shawarma contents in a bowl instead of getting it in a wrap as he had a gluten intolerance. The guy making the shawarma refused and told him he’d have to purchase an entire shawarma plate for him to do that. The customer insisted he has gotten shawarma with the bread on the side several times, but the guy making the shawarma kept arguing with him. The customer even offered to pay a few dollars extra to have the pita bread on the side but the guy making the shawarma insisted that they would never do such a thing and then got the owner out to help him argue.
After that nonsense, the owner made my felafel. I asked for garlic sauce and she was argumentative and said hummus goes on felafel, not garlic. I told her I preferred the garlic over the hummus and she argued that it couldn’t be done. Ugh. Whatever, hummus is fine. Anyway, the felafel itself was absolutely unremarkable and almost bland. It is also around the same price as the felafel anywhere else, so why even come here?
Considering Shawarma Palace is less than a block away, you’d think they’d try to step their service/​food up a bit to compete. Frankly, I can’t see how this place has stayed in business with competition like that.
Oh, and, as I was leaving a man behind me asked for a kafta wrap, which lead to ANOTHER argument from cranky shawarma man who insisted they didn’t exist despite them being on the menu. Come on dude, lighten the f*ck up.

This place is just OK at best. I find the garlic potatoes to be better here and the prices are a bit cheaper than Palace next door. However, Palace still has better tasting meat in their sandwiches and platters.

I came here because Shawarma Palace was packed and I didn’t want to wait in the line. Bad decision.
I could spend sometime and give you a detailed review but in my opinion it’s not worth it. The shawarma starts off with a dry, crumbling pita and is filled with burnt chicken, old and dry vegetables and all of it is prepared in a rushed manner.
I know the restaurant business is tough but this place could very easily be much better if care and passion was put into the food. Shawarma palace down the street is also small, dingy and smells like lamb but the shawarma tastes great!

Like the original Shawarma King location on Bank, they offer the same menu, prices, quality, fast service, late hours, and Interact on delivery.
I’ve only ordered for delivery from this one, and it’s always arrived hot and on time. They forgot my order of potatoes one time, which was only a small styrofoam container’s worth as a part of the beef shawarma Combo #2. They apologized profusely and came all the way back in less than 15 minutes with a huge aluminum foil container of freshly fried garlic potatoes! The garlic sauce is exactly the same, just as potent. So glad they have more than one location!
